Bluerthanthou.I thought Cotter looked good in the right back/wing back position too;but don't think we have seen enough of him to judge whether he is better than Josh.
If Gareth Southgate,and the top Premiership Managers can move players around then so can Paul Hurst.In some ways Emmanuel reminds me of Kyle Walker who fits that category;so it could be possible to play them both
If Chambo can play that position,then anything is possible lol !!! |

Yet another step in the right direction,as there are a lot of Hammers fans all over Essex including the North East,which is only 25/30 miles from Portman Rd.This will help swell the coffers which have been somewhat depleted recently.If not possible then how about Steijn's Dutch side?
Like most am looking forward to this season more than I have in almost a decade.I am one of those who renews regardless,and although I am sure this appointment will sell a few more season tickets;it would sell many more if the early bird deadline had been extended like it was last year.
Will be surprised if the Irish jaunt is repeated next year |

I thought Cole Skuse played better at the tail end of last season when the restrictions he played under with Mick were lifted somewhat .
Having said that i didn't like McCarthy making it clear that Skusey plus one or two others were shoo ins regardless.Hopefully that wil now change;and if a player comes in and does well he keeps his place |

Welcome to Ipswich Town Paul Hurst.
Whilst not my preferred appointment he was certainly my second.Has a very good CV at lower league level,and apart from first season at Shrewsbury was always looking up for promotions.
Have already said that Marcus must also take much credit for this mini-coup.This year he has certainly gone up in my estimation.Perhaps he will now deem to attend Shareholders AGM.
Certainly looking forward to the new season much more than have recently.
Meanwhile Paul,now you have this sorted,enjoy the rest of your holiday.Interesting that between that and takng over properly you are enhancing coaching |

Club has been approached by ME, albeit a bit later than Paul Hursts agent;but the same day.By waiting this long Marcus was taking a risk of somebody making an illegal approach.

Think Marcus Evans should take some credit for this.He has conducted himself in the correct manner,unlike some,and looks like he could end up with the man he wanted,bearing in mind the dateline he set in his address on club website.
Reading Paul Hursts CV above seems certainly better than any of the other possibles to me and I was also impressed with his post match interview,following defeat,and the way he conducted himself towards the press and fans,just like Bryan Klug,unlike Mr McCarthy.
Now I hope we can all unite on this site in support of Ipswich Town,and stop the personal petty sniping. |

Yes Bob it's me again !!!
Only saw the highlights as were away.
Bob saw full game and thought that Rotherham were the better team,and Josh did ok.
Must say that from highlights not overly impressed with the Shrews,apart from their build up to the goal;and their Managers interview afterwards.He showed more respect for the opposition,and the Press than we have been accustomed to from our previous manager.
Have wanted Frank Lampard for some time now;but looks as though he could be going to Derby,which is a pity.
Said all along that we just have to trust Marcus with this,strange that Steijn who was the fans choice at the start nevers seems to be mentioned now;and doesn't appear to have been interviewed.
Should know by next week,and if Mr Evans is that keen should travel to Dubai to interview the prospective manager,whilst he is on holiday |

He seems a very pleasant bloke when interviewed,and although I would prefer him in the centre rather than wing back;as Swn98 he always gives 100 %.

Not long to wait now folks hopefully,as pre season only month away !
Hurst is entitled to a holiday for goodness sake,even if he hadn't done so well with Shrewsbury !
Still a lot of names mentioned above except Steijn.
If we don't secure Mr Hurst's signature,then there are plenty more to choose from.
However,I wouldn't want any of Sherwood Coleman,Warburton,McGreal,Kuqi or Pardew,and out of Lamps and Parker would prefer the former.Think a lot of fans agree with me.
Its a gamble to a certain extent whoever we get.It's just like unlike Hurst,most of the others have failed somewhere,apart from John McGreal who has kept Col U comfortably in League 2;but has rarely looked like gettiing them out of that division,and former players Parker and Lampard.who are just starting out. |

Pity about Frank Lampard going to Derby,who are currently a bigger club than us.Thought we might have been in with a chance,what with Uncle Harry,and being down south(ish);especially as he reportedly had two interviews.
Expect they were able to dangle a bigger money bag in front of him than Marcus was prepared to ?
Looks like the delay is causing several possibles to fall out of the running for various reasons.This is not surprising due to the prevarification.Lets hope we still land somebody decent.
Don't forget Sir Bobby was third choice,and Sir Alf came straight from playing at Tottenham.The Cobbolds could certainly pick em !!! |
