Players in contract or with options for next season?
at 10:20 29 Oct 2020

Wilson (yes), Nsiala (yes), Donacien (no), Ward (yes), Huws (no), Bishop (yes), Nydam (yes), Judge (yes), Mizouni (yes), Sears (yes), Jackson (yes)

Could be wrong with some of them but think they are quite close.

I never said Gwion works in the half spaces? I said he is the only one showing things?

Which he is, and again last night, very good turn of pace to get to byline and pull back for Sears (should have scored).

Very cute header for Ward in the build up to the goal, will probably go unnoticed.

The only one in that front three who is going to beat his man 1v1 right now.

Exactly my thinking. He knows he is not too far from the push.

Agree with that. Downes has to be the deep one though, it really isn't Dozzell's strong point, he can dictate from deeper positions, but the defensive side isn't.

Need an enforcer in there.

Mark McGuiness - Boom

Certainly a step up, very comfortable on the ball, good pace and presence.

Wasn't a pitch perfect performance from him, but he and Woolfenden need to be the pairing, such a step up on Nsiala/Wilson.

Lamber in, Lambert out.

I don't know who is the better manager, both records are pretty poor in recent times, but I cannot stand Evans on the touchline.

95% of that is guff, but one sentence from Phil's report that is true:

"we will listen to the Lambert boy saying they were brilliant again. He said it on Saturday but I know a lot of Ipswich fans. I watched it as well. They were very poor. They weren’t so good tonight."

Hawkins is ok, not overly convinced on him.

He is isolated to be fair to him, but I see him more as a last 15 different dynamic player, not rest your goalscoring hopes on him.

I do agree the two wider players need to be playing more in field, in the half spaces I think its called.

Sears/Hawkins/Judge aren't good enough to get you out this league. Edwards the only one who is showing things.

I’M BACK!! What cripplingly negative drugs are you all on? AND GOODBYE

Fantastic rally cry. Loved that!

My faith in Lambert is hanging by an absolute thread, but you could reinstate me with you optimism!!

You should hang around this board more often, better than some of the clowns.

I thought he was poor tonight. Clearly talented, a lot to learn, long way to go.

Look really well balanced looking at their squad though. Whilst I’ve never heard of their manager, I really like their squad.

Just not fast enough in attack
at 21:45 27 Oct 2020

Very idle indeed, it’s ok to build that tempo from the back, but as soon as that rolled into the opposing half, you have to be able to move through to gears, otherwise it’s far to easy to play against, easy for teams to sit in in their banks of 4 or 5.

An important win first and foremost....
at 21:40 27 Oct 2020

Another clean sheet at home, important to get 3 points after 2 defeats, although against a largely poor side, although caused us some problems second half.

I still think we don’t look a well coached outfit, more a group technically good players tonight that have no instruction or understanding of how they should be playing together.

Midfield lacks an ‘enforcer’ dramatically. Dozzell is so gifted but he isn’t a singular pivot.

That front 3 won’t fire you out of this division I’m afraid, Edwards only one who offered bright sparks. Hawkins ok, won’t score goals, Sears really really poor.

Really are not confident enough on the ball to unlock defences, have to step up through the gears as you good through the thirds, we mainly played at an idle pace wherever, only on rare occasions did we step up the tempo, they were our best interplay moments.

3 points, 3rd and only 3 points off the top, so cannot be to negative.

Not for me, looking forward to it, we could have gone safe and thrown Huws in there, but much rather gone with what he has.

Our best technical footballers out there.

Credit where it is due.

Picked a good side tonight, and I’m suddenly excited to watch us tonight!!!!

Dobra and Simpson on bench as well, let’s see how we fair up.
