Lee O’Neill on Towns transfer business...

It was Jack Bonham.

Has had a good season at Bristol Rovers apparently but now a free agent, a lot of League 1 clubs looking at him including Peterborough.

How has Mal Benning got on (Mansfield LB). One of few left-backs with any credibility available in the summer on a free?

Linked with Coventry.

Need an out and out winger on the left side. Would be a massive miss to not go in for him. Would link up well with fellow Irishman Judge.

Saw there released players earlier.

One that actually stood out wasn't the most glamorous name on their list Jack Bonham. After a bit of digging it seems he has had a v good season in League 1 with Bristol Rovers this season.

46 games for Bristol Rovers, 18 clean sheets.

A good article of how good he has been for them this season. Should be the type of Goalkeeper we look at over Liam Kelly from Livingston (no disrespect, I'm sure he is a fine keeper).

Complete free agents list of Championship club 2019

Was talking about the list as whole.

But yeah Henderson a good keeper, would be dependent on our own situation of course.
Yanic Wildshcut from the scum was another one that caught my eye. QPR also seem to be releasing a fair few decent players.

Looks 95% accurate, still has Chambo and Emmanuel on their old contracts though.

We're trying to sign Conor Washington (again)....
at 13:14 7 May 2019

Mentioned him in previous thread I did.

Hasn't really managed to make the step up to Championship yet. Scored 26 goals and 10 assists in League 1 over 82 games.

Would be a good signing, an absolute work horse up front as well.

Further Transfer Targets
at 18:01 6 May 2019

If that is aimed at me, I do state that he could be out of our price range in my sentence. And the general mentions of my transfer targets have been League 1 and League 2.

As a general rule i do agree, the idea we will be able to acquire 4 or 5 Championship players is big far fetched. Its not unheard of that League 1 teams sign Championship/Prem players but normally on loan (George Thorne - Luton, Jacob Butterfield - Bradford). Every player is different, dependent on what they want at that time in their career.

3 or 4 signings is what I expect, 2 permanent, 2 loans.

Further Transfer Targets
at 17:27 6 May 2019

Yeah I put him my first transfer target list. He indeed out of contract, I'm sure he will be looked at. You know what you get with him, not the prettiest but he knows what the back of the net is.

Believe he scored a double at the weekend, taking his tally to 21 for the season off the back of 17 last year. Also believe he was involved in a little scuffle with a certain Curtis Tilt.

Whilst I think we will look at him, and could form a good partnership with someone like James Norwood, can see him ending up at somewhere like Rotherham, would certainly suit their style of play.

Saw someone else mention Aaron Ramsdale.

Wasn't Connor Ripley the goalkeeper who played for Accrington when we played them in the cup earlier in the season

Further Transfer Targets
at 11:56 6 May 2019

Really draining season ended on a really good high yesterday, really enjoyed the game, both sets of fans added to a great atmosphere.

Now over to what should a restructuring of a summer. PL said he will be letting players now on their future today if I recall right. But with 6 loans, and 8 or so players with expiring contracts. The squad will be trimmed, still think we require around 4 or 5 players in the right areas and of right quality.

Saw Sheff Wednesday released list yesterday.

Gary Hooper? - out of our price range now? Proven goalscorer nevertheless. 198 career goals in 453 games. Best spell at Celtic with 138 games (82 goals & 30 assists) but also had a very good spell at Scunthorpe in League 1, 90 games (47 goals & 7 assists). Obviously has his budgie connections where he scored 20 goals (and 8 assists) in 70 appearances.
31 years old but quite possibly mid/low championship teams will look at it him first.

Daniel Pudil? - another Sheff Wed released player, reaction seems to be quite upset they are letting go. 33 years old now, but has a wealth of experience in English football now with Watford and Sheffield Wednesday. In addition to his 200 English football appearances, he has now racked up just shy of 500 professional appearances, 150 of which with KRC Genk as well as 35 international caps with the Czech Republic.
Could be a very shrewd bit of business, left-back area certainly one we will need to recruit in in the summer.

Sam Baldock or Marc McNulty?

Both at Reading, both not featuring (McNulty out on loan).

Sure a loan would be available for them next season.

Who would you take?

Josh McEachran is a good footballer.

Don’t think that is our market though. Wages are too high in the Championship.

They’re used in academic studies for football analysis ArnieM University. They’re believed to be 95% accurate.

Have to remember market value and market fees are two very different things in football now. Comps in the English market especially has sky rocketed transfer fees here.

They need to reset and come back as nothing more than squad players. They have been fantastic servants for the club, and they do still have a role to play in the squad.

But time catches everyone up and you have to freshen things up in football, time to move on.

Emmanuel and Kenlock are learning. I can understand that but they should not be first choice full backs next year.

people having been saying the same thing about Skuse and Chambers for a while now. A they will have a good game here and there, and Chambo will throw his body in the way, rally the troops but will be awful for the next 7/8 games.

And Skuse is looking an old old man in there now. He's playing a sweeping role, screening the back four, but he just doesn't have the legs anymore.
