Recruitment - agree with the others who’ve said that what we really did was give added depth to the squad . We all knew that Jackson, Harness, AAH, H Clarke, Ladapo, Bilbao, Fridge, Baggott, Janoi, etc, etc we’re not going to be good enough. Their replacements were all upgrades on them. What we weren’t really able to do was significant upgrades on the first choice players. It’s just a fact. Recruitment has been found wanting in midfield. We took a punt on Philips, hoping he’d be our Ross Barclay. Sadly he has not been what we needed. Cajuste has been good, but we really needed a couple of prep proven players in there. Likewise upfront - we all know we’re short there, but the players we’ve brought in have been better - imo Clarke is better than Harness, Enciso better than AAH. Simple facts are that they just haven’t been good enough. Plus we’ve been really badly affected by injuries spdown our right side and Lief has had his limitations exposed on the left. Plus I th8nk we should admit that Kieran hasn’t been the tactical magician that he had been for the previous 2 seasons. Next year will show what he’s real made of. I expect us to be top 6 after a settling in period and to stay there all season. I hope we’ll be pushing hard for auto’s - but think it would be arrogant to expect us to be top 2. |

Or we could give him the chance to see what hes leant from this season? |
 | Forum Reply | If Muric had conceded that etc etc at 16:42 18 May 2025
Said it many times before - our problem has never just been the keeper. Defence, midfield and attack - none have cut the mustard. I really hope KM and the coaches learn from this. |

In the old days the ref would have had the Lino flagging offside for the 2nd Palace ‘goal’ and disallowed it, no questions asked. |
 | Forum Reply | How many points should we have? at 10:07 17 May 2025
The stats in the last TWTV thingy were pretty damming. Bottom 3 in just about every metric where we need to be at the top and top 3 of the ones where we need to be at the bottom. so sure, we had some hard luck stories, but over the season we've not been good enough. Really disapppointing, but the prem was better than we (and i think even KM) expected. We all halied KM as a genius and expected to get points because of his tactical nous. It hasnt turned out that way - even RVN has done as well as him. (And this is no criticism, just being realistic). |

IIRC Hladky turned down a contract offer and went of his own accord. Not sure that’s us ‘mishandling’ the situation. |
 | Forum Reply | Personally I'd keep him.... at 16:34 5 May 2025
I'm with you on this Bloots. I doubt we'll sign a better keeper so might as well keep him. There seems to be a conscensus that Palmer is way better than Muric - but results really haven't picked up since palmer came in, so I'm not sure that Muric was the reason we were struggling. There are other factors - like the fact that all over the pitch we just weren't quite good enough! |

2 : 0 = dangerous scoreline. A statement that often get's mocked but is truer than many realise. |
 | Forum Reply | How did Taylor do today? at 22:15 3 May 2025
I’ve never thought of Taylor as a left sided centre half. Nor really as one of the front two. Beattie and Whymark must be turning in their graves 😉 |
 | Forum Reply | Hirst > Delap at 18:18 3 May 2025
I didn’t see the game today, but think that he hasn’t been as effective recently as earlier in the season. Probably a combination of reasons for that. I probably went a little early and emotionally in my first response and over egged it. I do think that his potential is far higher than Hirsts, which is why he he is being talked about as a future England CF, and even now he’s a better goal scorer than Hirst. But all round, for what Town need right now, Hirst may not be too far behind him. |
 | Forum Reply | Hirst > Delap at 17:07 3 May 2025
Hahahahaha - not a chance. Delap will have prem suitors this summer, Hirst will not. I think that tells us who is the better player. That said, I do think that as this season has gone on Liams form has dipped and Hirst has improved. Delap is strong but needs to learn how to bring others into the game a little more. |

I agree, religion has nothing to do with football. Not sure about the pie in the sky bit though. |

Blimey Joe, you’re going early! I love your optimism mate, please don’t ever change 😀. I tend to think you’re right, but can’t quite bring myself to believe it! |

Texters - please show your working out (ie evidence) for that statement. If you can’t then maybe give your head a wobble, give TWTD a break for a while, or whatever else it takes to help you relent from your needlessly negative and provocative posts. Call yourself a Town fan? You should be ashamed of yourself. |

This is exactly the kind of post, from a genuine ‘ITK’ person, that I need to see right. We’re all a bit down and it’s great to be reminded that our owners are still in the game with the same high level commitment that they’ve shown since they got here. Very easy for our disappointment to overshadow everything so this is good news indeed. |
