I get your sentiments but I don’t actually think it’s true. Hoddle was mercurial, but often didn’t play when fit. Rodney Marsh, Frank Worthington and Matt Le Tissier are other brilliant players who were probably better than those who were picked, but they didn’t play because they didn’t fit the system or the other players around. I think the England managers were wrong to persist with the Lampard, Scoles and Gerard thing for as long as they did, but to criticism a manager for a one match experiment is a bit harsh, especially when in the Euros every man and his dog were calling for Kane to be dropped and Palmer and Foden to start. |

Tend to agree. Not ‘must win’ in the sense of points needed, but if we don’t get a win soon confidence will start to drop and performances decline as pressure mounts. The players are only human and if we don’t get a win soon they are bound to start wondering if they are good enough as individuals and as a team to do this. I’m confident that we’ll get a win soon - every team does eventually. But it’s proving harder than we thought and while I had hoped/expected us to be somewhere above 17th Come the end of the season, as things are at the moment It’s beginning to look like survival really is the aim of the game this season. |

If he's the world class player we think he is then maybe we should be building/picking the team around him rather than trying to fit him into the team? On Carsley - that has to be one of the worst interviews I've seen from a manager for a long time. That isn't the poise or talk of the leader we need. Nice guy, great number 2 but not right for the top job. Just my thoughts. |

And realised that Villa were in the championship 6 years ago. I know they’d only been in the championship for 3 years, but from there to where they are now is quite a story. Put Brighton alongside them, who’s rise and getting established in the prem is even more of a story, and we have legitimate grounds to dream of what is possible in a handful of years. It makes staying up this year, or at the very least promo back up very quickly if we get relegated, really, really important. But it shows what can be done. Not sure what point I’m making apart from COYB! |

Yep, I was thinking of their prem experience. I think we have potential - but that’s all it is at this point. |

Which is partly why every time they get beaten is a good thing for us! They certainly should have the capacity to do better than us this season and at 2:2 in the 90th min at the gooners it was good that they lost. |

It's not as if the ref was unsighted - he was no more than 10 yards away. Shocking. |

I only played one game at Gainsborough - I share it was a force 10 gale! Was the only time I’ve seen the ball kicked forward only to have it blown back and land further back than where it started. |
