 | Forum Thread | Lanzarote - Costa Teguise - Bar recommendations at 10:11 24 May 2024
Off to Lanzarote on Sunday. Staying Costa Teguise. This is the first package hol me and the family have been on but (after about 15 years) my wife and kids have persuaded me that going on an all inclusive pool holiday would be nice (I’m more of a log cabin in the Scottish Highlands type). Does anyone have any recommendations for good bars? They all look the same (big screen football, plastic seats outside etc) - nothing wrong with that, just wondering if there’s anything different? |
 | Forum Thread | Kieran McKenna: anxiety dream at 10:37 17 May 2024
I had my first Kieran McKenna anxiety dream last night. The setting was a sort of post-apocalyptic Old Trafford. We were watching Man U play an Argentine team in a pre-season friendly. There were hoardes of Argentine ultras burning down parts of the stadium and murdering people. McKenna was sat next to me and seemed entirely nonplussed by the vista of violence. He was also extremely small, almost the size of a toddler. I mainly talked to him about whether he had taken any time off since the end of the season and the need for him to recharge his batteries. I never have football related dreams and am 47 years old. I’m not sure this is normal. |
 | Forum Thread | God I’m glad that’s over…. Purely from a medical perspective at 13:18 5 May 2024
Usual resting heart rate is 52 bpm Felt absolutely shocking in the run up to kick off, assumed I was coming down with something. Looking back on my heart rate yesterday I was at 110bpm between 8am-3pm. Today back to 55bpm. Pure anxiety, pure adrenaline. It’s fair to say I am a nervous watcher! Also found myself on the brink of tears yesterday at several points, starting with a quiet few minutes at Bobby’s statue on a walk early morning. Getting to be a right emotional old git. |
 | Forum Thread | Plans to get to the game…. What have I forgotten? at 15:29 1 May 2024
1. Managed to get a ticket in the away end via an old friend. 2. My car is off the road so I’ve booked a hire car to travel from Gloucestershire to Ipswich on Friday night. 3. It’s a Bank Hol weekend so I didn’t want to risk travelling on Saturday morning…. So I’ve booked a hotel 10 mins walk from PR. Plan is to go for a run, say a prayer at the statues, buy some merch, stick the merch in the car and then sit in the Huddersfield end not giving myself away. Based on my behaviour watching last night’s game this won’t be an issue as I sat in pained silence leading to my wife asking “are you having a stroke?” I’ve tried to minimise any possibility of the universe conspiring to prevent me from getting to Portman Road on Saturday. What have I forgotten? Maybe I shouldn’t go for that run, Sod’s Law I’ll have a heart attack and miss the game! |
 | Forum Thread | Town fans in the Huddersfield end…. at 19:56 29 Apr 2024
If hypothetically a Town fan had managed to get himself a ticket in the Huddersfield end is there a special signal he could give to other Town fans? Blue carnation, a special handshake? I suspect there may be a few? |
 | Forum Thread | When will Phil put up the following headline today? at 08:42 1 Sep 2022
“Quiet transfer deadline day expected at Portman Road”…. A staple favourite of the Evans years! Seems unlikely given the speculation and recent transfer activity but maybe we’ll settle for what we’ve got already. |
 | Forum Thread | Why do none of our managers use the League Cup to gel the team? at 21:51 9 Aug 2022
I just don’t get why all of our recent managers make wholesale changes for the First Round of the EFL Cup. Surely it’s the perfect opportunity to start with a strong XI, work on partnerships/patterns of play against weakened opposition? Our League Cup record since the Priskin semi is awful. Shouldn’t be too much to ask that we gave it a good go occasionally? |
 | Forum Thread | Morsy - absolute marmite at 07:59 7 Aug 2022
Hands up, I don’t see Town often (2/3 times a year) and (due to geography) I’m now a season ticket holder at Forest Green. Yesterday was a very strange experience for me. Not sure I enjoyed it! It was also the first time I recall seeing Sam Morsy play. Is he like that every week? Every tackle he left something on this opponent, niggly, horrible player. But then he pulls out a piece of sublime craft for his goal. For those that are old enough he reminded me (not in terms of position, in terms of attitude) of the likes of Paul Dickov or David Speedie. I’d imagine the majority of ITFC fans love him but away fans leave every game despising him? Is that fair? |
 | Forum Thread | Cook: P24 W4 at 16:53 11 Sep 2021
The last time I questioned whether Cook was the right man for the job I was asked what level of football I had played at. I really want it to work out for him. But the only thing the Demolition Man is demolishing is his own reputation at the moment. I thought the alarm bells were ringing from the moment he so publicly threw last year’s squad under the bus. This season things have got in some ways better but we won’t stay in the league (yet alone go up) by playing more attractive football and conceding 5 at home. Time is running out in more ways than one. |
