Why aren't we in for him? I don't really care about the fact that we let him go but the possiblitiy of a proven goalscorer on the cheap in the mould that PJ seems to be after seems to be an obvious choice.

Not too dissapointed to be honest, at least it puts the speculation to an end.
No doubting he played a massive part in keeping us up but more importantly he showed us what we were really missing in our midfield.
I cant help thinking that if we'd stretched ourselves to getting him him he would've become a financial liability and mayhave prevented us getting in some better long term targets.
Thanks for what you did for us Jimmy, lets see how many games you actually play for whoever you end up with. |

Brilliant! Most excited I've been about a signing for a long time! Hope he can live up to the hype here but we all know he good he can be. Hope this helps persuade a few other signatures this way. Still think we need a midfielder or 2 to get that ammo in, but to be fair, it wasn't lack of chances last year that was the problem. And I hate to say it, but that is the new shirt he's got and not the old stripey one.

You're right Brittaniaman, if Clegg and Jewell have been away this wee, who is going to be showing these guys around and "selling" the club to them?
I can understand the delay in any potential signings if he had Ingimarssen around too but surely we should be pushing the boat out to impress potential new players.
I hope there is a bigger picture to all this and Jewell is out wheeling and dealing. Got to admit being about the success of any deals after reading that.
Really hope these come off, don't know much about Ingimarssen myself but seems to be liked enough by the Reading fans. Nervous day by the computer awaits! |

There have been a lot of rumours floating about regarding Chopra signing lately. Lets hope the deal is a fair way done. This what the club needs right now, a quality signing, a good sign of intent. It shows the likes of doncasters chairman that we won't be held to ransome and are prepared to go elsewhere.
I'm as impatient as everyone to get some new players in, but I'm not worried as we know the club have been putting bids in, showing players around the ground and scouting. There hasn't been a great deal of transfer activity by anyone other than the budgies. Also could it be that our targets are players who have been away withtheir international sides so any deals will take longer.
Don't mess this signing up town. I'd like to be in a good mood tonight! |
