Dyer Set for QPR
Dyer Set for QPR
Tuesday, 12th Jul 2011 20:39

Former Blue Kieron Dyer is believed to be on the verge of a move to QPR. We understand that the 32-year-old has spoken with Neil Warnock’s newly-promoted club, while some sources are claiming a play-to-be-paid type deal has already been agreed.

Dyer was on Blues boss Paul Jewell’s summer wish list towards the end of last season despite his injury hit loan spell at Portman Road, but lately the Town manager’s interest has cooled.

The former England international was released by West Ham at the end of 2010/11 but started pre-season training with his old club.

I do love Special K but let's face it, this is good news for all concerned.

Play-as-you-play is not a surprise. Now we have Bowyer, not sure we need him, and PJ never seemed to show much interest for a permanent move.

Good luck to him, wouldn't have made our team a promotion winning side.

Not sure how long he has got left in him, hopefully he proves me wrong!

Certainly wages that can be better spent elsewhere. Probably 2 or 3 signings with potential like Cresswell for his wage.

Good luck to him. This could well be his only offer to stay in the top flight and I'm guessing once a player has a taste of the Premier League the 'pull' of it would probably be too much for him to resist.

On a Pay-As-You-Play basis, he would of been a good signing for us, but even then his wages would still be high.

We do need a creative midfielder... unfortunately they are quite expensive unless we take a gamble on an unknown foreign player. Something which doesn't look likely that we will do.

Good luck to Kieron i would like him back at ipswich, but he is very injury prone we might not get anything out of him.

Would of like him on pay per play deal because would of added a different dimension to the squad experience and pace with the ability to beat a player

He was on the verge of signing for ITFC and he got a whiff of Bowyer signing and changed his mind!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA....Warnock IS getting desperate.
No wonder, who wants to play for that dross club in that shoebox!?

QPR to go down - for sure.

VERY good news. No disrespect to Kieron or indeed his supporters (I was a big fan YEARS ago), but for a Championship club he is too risky. The telling point in the article is 'his injury hit loan spell' - he didn't even manage to stay fit for a month loan!

Best news all summer I reckon that he aint coming back! Certainly not worth the wages with his playing record over the last few years!

Luckily for QPR its a pay as you play deal.

I'm sure he'll get injured.

(Thats not wishful thinking)

Good luck Dyer. One last crack at the Prem.

cannot believe anyone on here thinks dyer would add anything to us ither than to our wagebill. as good a player as he used to be, he simply would be sitting in the stands watching games, due to injury. even taking him on a pay as you play basis isnt worth it, his loan spell showed even when he on the pitch, he no longer up to it. unless he can stay injury free to get match fit he'll offer nothing to ne1. & lets face it, hes not played more than a handful of games in the last 10 years. oh, & alfromcol, hes not been newhere near joining itfc, fortunately. before ne1 accuses me of slating him, i was as big a dyer fan as ne1, but am realistic enough not to live in the past.

Best of luck Kieron but QPR are welcome to you...well past your best i'm afraid so I don't see any point in us getting lumbered with a player who's been pretty much crocked ever since he left here 12 years ago.

If it is a pay-as-you-play deal, I don't think Dyer will be earning much money! Good luck to him but I don't expect to see him much on Match of the Day. He came here on loan supposedly over his injury problems, then missed most of the matches due to injury/fitness.

Hhhmmm... If this us true then maybe they've given up on bullard? Cant imagine they'd risk both. Especially if the stories are true and ecclestone n briatorie want to sell up. We wait and see....as always!!!

Tillz9 added 23:09 - Jul 12
Maybe clutching at straws but signing Dyer may mean less competition for Bullard. Can't see them wanting to sign 2 ageing injury probe players !!
