Injuries have played their part though, what is 17 appearances this season for Didz in yet another injury hit season.

Not defending his goal scoring record, but when he is on form then he is pretty unplayable. He isn't an out and out goal scorer either and will probably never hit 20 goals a season, you would hope that who ever plays with him would be in the team for that IMO.

Sears is only just ahead of him with goals having played more games this season so its harsh to beat McGoldrick with the lack of goals stick alone.

Our strikers have been starved of opportunities thanks to our inept midfield this season and Micks tactics, we don't create that many chances in games, as proved against Sheff Wed. I doubt many strikers in the league would have scored many in our team this year IMO.

Sears hasn't been playing up front much either...

After Newcastle, we should have stuck with McGoldrick and Sears and let them form a partnership.

But no! Strikers should be chucked in and have an immediate understanding and match confidence while feeding off clearances - or they can f*ck off to Cambridge.

He IS our best player by a mile, no one including Lawrence can hold the ball like him. Wish those around him were on the same wave lent and our manager allowed them to express themselves.

I'd say Bart has been our best player for the last couple of seasons.

But I disagree strongly with your opinion of McG, he's the best footballer we've owned for years. He is one of the few players we've got who cause the opponents problems, we are generally very rigid and predictable in our style of play, his touch and movement is fantastic and creates opportunities for other players. If he had a touch more pace he'd be a Premier League player.

McGoldrick: 476 mins per goal (595 if you exclude penalties)
Sears: 381 mins per goal
Not saying 381 is anything to write home about though.

I agree with those saying McGoldrick is our best player to watch, but he's also the most frustrating. Far too often he holds onto the ball too long when he has the chance to pass or shoot or cross.
