October looks an 'orrible month 09:31 - Oct 1 with 2850 viewstextbackup

Given the fact we seem to be losing vs the better teams we could realistically only gain 1/2 points the whole month 😕
Norwich hitting form is just fcking typical, I can't face another loss against them

We’ll be good again... one day

It looks a bit like last February did when it was predicted by some that we get nothing against Reading,Villa,Brighton,Leeds and them from Norfolk and we were in fact unbeaten.

With February, we just went into it with a 'do not be beaten' outlook. Will Mick do the same thing now and, if so, will he be forgiven for it by the fanbase? Mick said himself we'd reached the point where we just had to do what we needed to survive and nothing more; are we in that position now?

The Bristol City result may help him in this regard, he can point to the last three matches and say we can't keep leaking nearly three goals a game so need to shore it up, especially against better opposition. The question is are we capable of doing that?

We are not in the "do what we needed to survive" situation now, we are in a do what we need to stay in touch with the top 6 situation.
We obviously do need to tighten up in defence and it is a question of whether that is achieved by changing system or changing personnel or both.
Whatever is done should be done without diminishing the very real goal threat that we have going forward.

My post on this thread was really highlighting the fact that even predicting the outcome of a single Championship game with accuracy is not an exact science so predicting the outcome of a series of games is even less so.

We have played a lot of the bottom teams so far so it will be a good test. Should get something from the Burton game but the other 3 we could get nothing.

Except we seem to be relatively easy to predict at the moment - beat the strugglers but lose to anyone half decent.

Towns injury list doesn't look half as bad. Webster's return yesterday a big plus.

We, at City, were thinking the same about our fixtures during September, Reading, Wolves, Norwich and yourselves away plus Derby and Bolton at home as well as a cup game against Stoke.
We expected maybe 4 or 5 points and a cup exit plus mostly defeats yet we went unbeaten during September winning at Reading and your place, unlucky to only draw at Wolves, drawing at Carrow rd, beating Stoke and Bolton plus tearing Derby to pieces in the best City performance I've seen in years!

If we can do it, so can you.
Be positive and you can do it as you're a good side.

Probably the first non-deluded Bristol City fan I've come across... Fair play!

I was thinking exactly the same thing last night. As you say, that lot seem to have found their feet too.
