Flores turns down Stoke job 13:19 - Jan 13 with 2387 viewsco12blue

Could this be the day Martin O’Neill gets the Stoke job and
McCarthy goes back to Ireland ?

Thinking about O’Neill’s character I suspect he’ll be unimpressed to be so clearly second choice but we’ll see.

I’ll be surprised if Ireland ask McCarthy to take over if that happens but, even if they do, I can see him seeing the season out here first.

Fingers crossed, I think it's best for everyone if that happens.

Evans and Ireland would probably accept him doing both jobs until the end of the season. Or they'd appoint a caretaker.

Truly impaired.

Maybe. Depends who he'd be replaced by at Town.

Megson might take the shine off it a bit.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

There's a very small pool of managers who would get even half of the fans onside. I don't think there is anyone, with the possibly exception of Warburton if he comes in and gushes about what a great club we are, that can unite 75-80%+ of the fans.

Truly impaired.

Please don't use the M word, my people find it offensive.

I hope it might be Warburton. 47% win at Brentford / Forest (excluding 99.99% at Rangers) is far from shabby; and we've not come near to looking like Brentford when he was there.

RoI's next competitive match is in September so Mick can work to the end of his contract at Ipswic.
