Take them on the Orwell Lady i'd say. Departs down on the Watefront. Takes you right up the Orwell to Felixstowe, where you can see the cranes stacking the containers right up close. Quite something. Ipswich museum is surprisingly good. Otherwise, i'm not sure what 12/13 girls find fun! Maybe take them to Kream's up in the Buttermarket. It's sort of an ice cream parlour/dessert specialist place, they should enjoy that... |  |

I was in the UK at Christmas and took my daughters aged 13 and 15 to see Framlingham Castle. Depends if they like Ed Sheeran I suppose ! It’s about a 30 minute drive from Ipswich. It was a bit cold but they enjoyed it and seeing the area referred to in the song. [Post edited 18 May 2018 17:15]

Chill out down the Marina on a nice day is great, Isaacs is the hot spot, Cardinal Park with Cine World is not bad for food and movies, Nice hot day try Christchurch Park, Ipswich has some fine parks, including Alexandra and Holywells and Christchurch mansion. Check out the theatres New Wolsey has Our Blue Heaven on. Also Regent Theatre.
Ipswich was renowned for its Churches, more per square mile than anywhere else (I believe?), our links to Cardinal Wolsey, the burning of witches, there is a monument in Christchurch park, some wonderful architecture, including the Ancient House, the old Croydons building, the Insurance Willis building that once was the largest all glass exterior building in the UK.
The monument to Giles the famous cartoonist is found in the town centre, my mother's sister used to play with his niece as he had no children of his own.
There is probably a lot more but that should get you going, oh the Cosy Club seems a nice place for a meal/beer etc. [Post edited 18 May 2018 22:13]

Just to add, if you are driving Woodbridge is a pretty town not too far and on the Deben and Sutton Hoo is not far from there. so you could do the museum and treat the girls in Woodbridge 'if' they have been bored silly :)) | | | |
