I'm with you, I was thinking CBT and wondering what Mod1 was

I managed it - but by balance and not momentum- even the instructor commented his surprise that I made it. Key is actually to look at where you are going and not at the bike or at the road. Just practice by looking at the point on the other side of the road- your target. It's actually quite surprising when it works but it does!! Good luck- and keep shiny side up.
Anyone done their Mod1 motorbike test? on 13:07 - Jun 19 with 2584 views | wellyblue | The easiest way to do a U turn is to set the revs slightly higher than normal before starting the manoeuvre, and to control the speed of the bike with the rear brake only during the turn. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Exactly this... All to do with clutch control and balance. Just take it v slowly, just enough forward speed to keep upright

Is it best to literally only just have the clutch biting? Edit - I would ask my instructor but he seems more intent on shouting at me and calling me various unpleasantries..... Thanks for all the helpful tips guys, really helped, I really maxed the room available on the left before I started the U turn and made it round with about a yard to spare. The rest of it was a breeze once I knew I'd done the turn. Mod 2 in a couple of weeks......
