To be honest I would never use any of the 'chains' .
If I have a coffee when I am out I always go to a small independant coffee shop.
My favourite in the Suffolk area is the cafe on the quay at Orford. They make a wonderful cappuccino. Their scones with clotted cream and jam are to die for too!
Indeed. I hate all of the chains' coffee generally, Starbucks' filter is bearable but unless you get it early doors it's like paint stripper by the time I get to Corley or somewhere on the way back to Suffolk.
Costa seem to only serve coffee flavoured gravy in pints. McDonalds managed to make a coffee for me Sunday that didn't taste like the Russians might have got to it first.
Nero is the best chain, but I only use independents once I find a decent one. This trend of American portions for Italian style products needs to die though. Not just because the coffee is bad, but watching little old ladies trying to use degree level engineering to drink the things is painful.
