Yes. That seems to continue to do well I think. I've probably only been in there about five times in my life. The Earl Roberts was always my favoured pub in that little area.

The Sally? the landlord told me they had to remove a load of fresh plaster as next door had a lean to type affair built, and damp had come through the wall. Leeds almost had a go a redecorating the other Sunday night, but took the row outside.

No the Duke of York - it was half painted blue for ages and had only recently been finished

Another Pub bites the dust on 09:27 - May 18 with 1155 views | catch74 | A bit out in the sticks but the Butley Oyster has closed it’s doors again for the foreseeable. Think they got lottery funding to do it up, created an indoor cinema, built a micro- brewery (barely used!) You can spend all you want on a pub but you’ve got to be prepared to put the hard yards in plus employ the right people.

And you can still do all of that, but if no one turns up to buy your beer, or your business taxes go up 10kto20k in a year, you're still scuppered.

Used to go in there a lot in the 1960s when it was the General Gordon. Did most of my studying for my A Levels ( Civic College ) in there. Got engaged under the influence in there one Christmas Eve. Those Were The Days!!!!!!!!
