Only if Tyler was the sole member.

Although the 50 minutes it took to get a response suggests there are too few of us.

I fear that had Tyler been the sole member of this particular hypothetical event, one would be hard-pressed to accurately term it a 'revolt'. At worst one may perhaps employ 'rampage' or in modern parlance 'lone-wolf attack'. I think many of us struggle to find friends these days, whether for the purposes of conducting a revolt, or indeed purely for conversation.

But I think first we have to clarify whether it is pedants revolting against poor usage of language, non-pedants revolting against spurious and unnecessary corrections or strict pedants enforcing best practice upon well-meaning but lax pedants...

I am not altogether sure that a correction can be deemed unnecessary.

If it adds nothing to the understanding of a sentence...

As others have said:

Pedant's singular.

Pedants' plural.

Well it looks like a duck, it sounds like a duck. Nope, dunno what it is.

There is an argument that it could be the Pedants Revolt isn't there too? If it is a revolt that involves them but does not belong to them.

I'd have to consider that one.

I've had a Ghost Ship or 2 this evening and am too busy getting down-voted by my old mate Dolly elsewhere to be able to offer much here.

You seem a bright chap so I'll take your word for it!
