Jam spread in an even layer and then a big lump of cream is right, right? Made some with junior and this seems the best.

Also I'm not interested in the usual shenanigans, it's pronounced scone, not scone.

As it's a staple of Devonshire and both my dear old Nan's were from Devon I will go with their view that its jam then cream

By happy coincidence I had one yesterday, and that’s how I did it. But the Mrs said the cream should go on before the jam. She’s Welsh though, so easily confused.
