What about Holloway? 16:14 - Mar 4 with 920 views | WarkTheWarkITFC | I still can't work out if the bloke is a brilliant manager or an awful one. I appreciate he's at Grimsby and the £12.50 compensation would be too rich for us but another name to consider. A decent bloke, who gets football and tries to entertain who might well be amazing here or complete rubbish given Evans funding. Personally I think with a top 6 budget next season, which we will still have, he'd get us in the playoffs at least.

Fair enough. He's been doing some great PR there. Strikes me as a Lambert who can actually manage a football club.

Apart from being decent at Plymouth, Bristol Rovers and QPR and okay at Palace. He was only really poor at Millwall and Leicester and was superb Blackpool.

I'm not saying Holloway is wrong but his record is up and down. And Lambert himself is a manager who did well for Norwich but couldn't for us despite taking over in a very similar position. If management is about being in the right place at the right time (and basically being lucky) then all our efforts should be based on creating the conditions to succeed rather than expecting a manager to do that for us. On a side note, I'd argue that Mick himself came in and created the conditions to succeed. I know that ultimately didn't fit our loftier ambitions or our reduced budget but at least we should know what type of manager we need. Someone like Warnock becomes much more interesting and relevant if it's about them creating the conditions themselves.
