You’d think so wouldn’t you. It’s fcking weird. Didn’t think much of Raab saying he’d be ok because he’s a fighter either. Clearly doesn’t understand the virus. And pretty dismissive of the thousands already dead.

Ffs. I am calling this one. Remember how the country kind of went a bit mental when Di died, or should I say large parts of the country did. Well we are truly getting there. Neighbours phoning the police because they spotted someone going out twice to exercise, police using drones to "shame" dog walkers, people posting videos on social media telling second home owners to "keep away"... Plenty of examples posted on here too. We will look back and say wtf? Yep there's a nasty virus and we all need to adapt, but the high and mighty are truly going off their tits imho. And social media and the 24 hour news are feeding the paranoia. That's my input anyhow :-)

Which is why I too will be praying he doesn't die....which will just leave him as a living martyr/buffoon! Cummings must be wetting himself.

Boris has classic pathway of pneumonia (appear to be getting over it, then suddenly I'll again). It's not something he'll get over quickly. It's the "secondary" pneumonia that is killing, and that's the concern for not just him, but millions with age and/or respiratory concerns.

Whilst I don't agre with the mindset that says you have to suddenly pretend your views on a person are different when they are ill or die... There is absolutely no need for this sort of unpleasantness.
| The presence of those seeking the truth is infinitely to be preferred to the presence of those who think they've found it.

In the modern era of low mortality, improving standards of living and most accidents not being fatal, we are less inured than our forebears to shocks. TV melodrama (full of angry people screaming at each other and bursting into tears) has trained everyone to over-emote at the drop of a hat. With the extremely rapid onset of this situation (a month ago we were still going to football matches), there has been no time for the public mindset to adjust.

Spot on. Sums it up perfectly. There was a thread on another footy forum I use where a neighbour (female) had complained on facebook that her neighbours weren't clapping the NHS with enough gusto the other night. [Post edited 8 Apr 2020 9:58]

I don't doubt that lots of people are quite simply struggling with anxiety - we all are anxious, it's genuinely scary times for lots of reasons. But I maintain we will look back at some of the reactions (including many on here) as simply utterly ludiculous. Bloke I know who runs a mobile takeaway (visited by the police quite regularly) had an old lady scream at him that he will be "found out soon enough". Loads of other examples. It's primarily those who love to tell others what to do, what is/isn't funny, what they should or shouldn't post, how to exercise etc. They are in their element atm. Clearly there are understandable issues causing anxiety, but the reactions are utterly ridiculous imho.
