For obvious reasons I won't be seeing a GP anytime soon but I seem to have developed gout in my big toe. Therefore any tips and medication advice will be appreciated.

It hurts like a motherfecker.

I blame Jeera because he previously asked me for gout advice and I didn't have it.

Edit; I've had a bad elbow for a while, could this be related.

Never knew it was so popular. The only person I’ve known who had it was an old piss head, so I’d assumed that was the typical sufferer. Mind you, looking at those of you posting there might be something in that .

I had a good drinking buddy in Dinan, who used to suffer sporadically from gout. He did normally drink around 10 pints of 6% Licorne Black (Brittany equivalent of Guinnes) every day. He was often in loads of pain and struggled to walk the short distance to the pub, but always seemed to stagger home without too many problems.

Yeah that pretty much describes the person I knew. Fair to say, I know nothing about it whatsoever.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I used to think the same, and there probably is something in that, but then a couple of years ago I worked with a 21 year old guy, extrememly fit, played semi pro football and drank little.
He suffered badly at times.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
