The thing is that a bit of sleaze and some extra - marital sex is nothing compared to ignoring government advice at a time of national crisis especially when you've sat in on the meetings setting out the guidelines of that advice. Of course, that's not to forget that his actions could well have spread the virus to his elderly parents and all he came in contact with.

Quite frankly, for a leadership that wants to channel the spirit of Thatcher, she would have nothing to do with this shyster rabble.

I think Cummings would have been sacked yesterday morning if Thatcher was Prime Minister. If she was feeling nice she may have given him the opportunity to resign but there would have been very little sympathy or regret.

Yep, I think she would have handled it exactly like that. I would add to that by saying that Cummings wouldn't have had anywhere near the same amount of power and influence that he has with this lot and she most definately would have seen that his actions would not have support in the wider Tory populace however its spun.

They are very different indeed. When was Mellor and his shagging a prossie in his Chelsea top? Was that during Major's time?

There's sleaze from dirty old men and then there's this sinister autocracy by the back door.

The word you're looking for is 'kakistocracy'.

That's him.

Major was in charge of a sinking ship but I think his heart was in the right place even if he couldn't maintain control of an increasingly divided party.

Nah, he was a small-minded, judemental little weasel who was more than happy to blame the country's ills on themost vulnerable, privatise the sh1t out of everything and operate to cdouble standards and clamp down on dissent(1994 criminal justic act anyone?), it's just that he looks good compare to what we have now.

Although if the pandemic had never happened I think that by now all the pre General Election lies and the obvious incompetence of Boris and his merry men (and women) would have been getting exposed and torn apart by Mr Starmer.

Indeed, Covid-19 may have "saved" Brexit, by hiding any problems beneath a serious disaster.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

My bad, must have clicked the wrong button.

No surprise you’ve recently decided burying your head in the sand is the best option for you though.

Sorry for the late response to your post. I am not burying my head in the sand. I run my own business , I am planning to come out of furlough this week, therefore have been preoccupied dealing with clients , supplier's and the such like. I do feel however that some poster's behaviour has been some what childish & abusive. Hence why Phil found it necessary to issue a warning .
