No it's not. The club, the FA, the people who run the game have made it clear they don't want racists. Whether that's as much for commercial reasons as ethical ones is irrelevant.
There is a huge and rich history of sport being used to mount political protest. Even laughable nonsense like the FLA. The fact you're even talking about a divide shows the power of this movement and any others. Kids are seeing Marcus Rashford has more capacity for change and guts than their government, they're going to grow up better for it.
Letting the arseholes die out and shouting down any remnants of it amongst their kids is exactly what sport is good for. Living our lives scared of nutters as you put it is pretty pathetic. | |
