This was going to be the Town kit design in 1988 which is why it is called the Ipswich.

Town then decided to jump ship and go to Admiral. There was even some merchandise printed with the Admiral logo on it. The deal with Admiral fell through at the last minute which left Town remaining with Adidas for another year and keeping the same kit although it had the centenary motiv under the badge.

That was why we had three years with the same kits 86-89.

Never let it be said that The_Last_Baron doesn't know his kits.
