Right, my friends are adamant that there was a McDonald’s special burger from Euro ‘96 called the Euro McDouble and there was an advert with Alan Shearer. We can’t find any trace of this online, ANYWHERE.
It rings a bell with me, but I can’t tell anymore if that’s just because they have spoken about it so much.
Does anyone else remember this?
“I’ll have a Euro McDouble PLEASE”

I just googled Euro "Mcdouble" with the quotes and the first result is this thread! Seems unlikely. Maybe they just advertised the mcdouble around then, and there wasn't anything special about it
I was 2 years old, so I don't remember at all

Haha that's fantastic!
Thanks for your help.
I've decided on the only logical solution. I've emailed the Quickly Kevin... guys as part of their Do I Remember This Right? section. I'll keep you updated as I know how important this is.

NO! But that was my first thought too.
He did do an advert for McDonalds in 2000… for the ‘Big Extra’ - and they had a Euro 2000 official affiliation… could it have been that one in your memory?

There’s a lot to unpack here. Thank you all.
Apparently when you remember something- a song an advert a kiss or whatever - you aren’t remembering the thing itself but in fact, you are remembering the last time you remembered it. Hope this helps.
