That would be one of the most underwhelming signings I can remember. Trying to to think of a more underwhelming one and I'm struggling.
It's not like he's a raw young talent. He's 28. Played most of his career in well below this level and never been particularly prolific. Big lad for a plan B maybe but this is not a signing to that screams improvement.
What is Will Keane doing. Million times better than this option. Is Keane going to be offered much bigger wages still.
Genuinely felt more confident when we weren't signing people.

I'm not obsessed with him. I just rate him. He's had a dreadful time with injuries but finally got the best part of a season in and will much better for it. He's clearly capable with the right service and can progress upward with us should we get promoted.
This is a bit of a desperate signing. Keane gives me more hope. If he stays fit he'll do well for someone next season. You point Keane in an attacking side like Peterborough and he would score a lot of goals. |

Yeah, I liked him. Lanky centre forward who also can play CB, came from
non league but didn’t embarrass himself. Didn’t really get a run in the team, was never first choice but half decent. Surprised Ipswich are in for him, thought he’s be low div 1/top div 2 standard at best. |

His trajectory is upward now though. 9 for us in not a huge amount of starts and definitely as he got fit their were some really good signs and their service became abysmal.
His career record is poor but it's injuries rather than ability. That's pretty clear.
It's a gamble on his fitness but he's the most fit and injury free he's been.
If you're happy to be reasonable on a debate then I think you have every reason to be sceptical about his ability to remain fit and be a success. I just think he was starting to come good and good long period injury free now. It's not easy to know with him but just gives me hope of us getting better rather than lowering ourself to L1 standards long term. Make sense? I tried to put my thinking across | |

You're not wrong that the idea of signing Tyler Walker is 'fantastic'.
It's literally a fantasy that a promising up and coming player would sign for us right now. |
Good news! We agree. Would love Tyler Walker. Would take him over Keane though very different obvs. Take him and I'd feel happier about Oli Hawkins as the big plan B. | |

The usual suspects on here moaning about lack of ambition, getting someone “better” than anyone we are linked with etc. We all know what mistakes the club have made over the past twelve years and feel that our place is in the top two divisions. We now have to adapt to L1 and build a team that can get us back there against the background of salary caps, COVID-19 etc. I can’t think of anyone’s name in the Wycombe team except Akinfenwa who just happens to be a big lump who brings others into the game. L1 isn’t about stars, it’s about the sum of a team’s parts. |  | | |
