A player who has gone to a league above for a fee. If they wouldn't walk into our team the recruitment there would be worrying. We cannot be expected to out-compete Championship clubs to sign players destined for their first team regardless of covid financial pressure and the salary cap.

The salary cap is going to prevent us increasing our already cumbersome squad. We have the players we need. What we need to do is get the best out of them. For now we have to hope that Lambert can do that. He did for the first part of last season, now we need him to for the whole season (or for him to be replaced by someone who can but I wouldn't hold your breath on that one).
