Really not fussed to be out of that competition 21:02 - Nov 10 with 595 viewsNthsuffolkblue

However so much of that performance was exactly like the first team. We passed the ball around so deep and didn't create any real chances. There didn't look like any real plan for how to do so. We were then physically not up to the match (which isn't so much of a surprise when it is such a young and inexperienced side).

The worst bit, though, was the realisation that at the rate we are going this is our future. Gradually cut the squad down until it is these players playing against this sort of side in the league below. Unless we can sort out getting promoted this is the direction we are heading. Please tell me I am wrong because that is utterly depressing.

Most of these kids haven’t finished growing yet the Physical side of the game will come with that they were technically miles ahead of Crawley they lacked a cutting edge up front, I don’t think Simpson is going to be good enough and we lacked a bit of nous in midfield that will come with age and experience.

We have lost 5 of our last 7 first team games ! looking like the slump of last season is back .

The issue is more with the tactics. What point is retaining possession in front of our own box without any plan for how to have possession close enough to take a shot?

Well I am. Winning is a habit and the players want to be winners but not under our manager.
Ok we're 2nd but not for long!
You can't go from losing then suddenly turn it round.
Very unhappy about Lambert's style, cant score from own half, too slow to get forward and shot shy. No wonder he's been sacked so often.

Well, people have been calling for a number of years for all our teams to play the same way. It appears they are now!

2nd is already a false position. Clubs close behind with a game in hand, games coming up against clubs with a better record than us. Poor form. If we can get 9 points from the 3 home games fantastic but I think 5 would be a very good return and that would see us on 27 points from 14 games. If Peterborough get 3 or more points from 3 games, Charlton 6 from 4, Hull and Sunderland 7 from 4, Lincoln 6 from 3 they will all be ahead of us.

We are on the slide now.

I didn’t watch it. Were we moving the ball on at the back as soon as an opponent came within 10 yds as the first team do?
Lambert seems to have missed the point of luring forwards in to the press to create the space behind - we just pass it about for the sake of it.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

This for me. Why would anyone be pleased at being out of two competitions in the space of 3 days, one of which being the oldest cup competition in the game? Lambert needs his head read. It was this fannying around and not taking things seriously that set the rot in last year - looks like he's learnt nothing and we're heading the same way.

The defenders looked a lot more comfortable on the ball and there was no one dropping deep among them like Dozzell does but aside from that, we were passing it aimlessly and keeping possession but never created anything.

Our first shot was a tame one on 75 minutes and the only other one I can recall was a quickly taken free kick from 40 yards hoping to catch the keeper out but hit well wide.

Certainly does, this type of run of results has been a trademark of PL’s reign. There’s too many things that are happening now which mirror last season and we all know how that turned out. Just feels we’re on a road to nowhere.
