I've recently seen two Brexiteer relatives sharing petitions to save British food standards from being undercut by a trade deal with the US. One of them is my Mum who I had repeated conversations with about Brexit being used to do stuff like this. FFS indeed.

Not on that one, the deregulatory approach remains a key driver of Brexit. But currently winning is the ‘sovereignty’ myth, not sure what happens when that hits a putative US trade deal with much lower food standards.

I just sit here twiddling my thumbs over EU Human Rights and why possibly the Tories are so keen to ditch them. Sure it has nothing to do with protesters (who they call criminals), asylum seekers (who they wish to send the military to deal with), low paid workers (who they have done nothing but show contempt to) or those on welfare (who they’ve already managed to kill plenty of). Funny how so many of even our “well informed” and “centralist” posters who were pro-Brexit aren’t anywhere to be seen RN, almost as if they are embarrassed but will soon be back to reinvent their posting history. I think several have probably been banned for showing other sides to their characters. That's not to say all Brexiteers are racist; I know they are not, but it does seem reasonable to repeat that most racists are entirely on the side of Brexit.

Even TWTD's Designated Daily Trolls With No Russian Connections, Honest don't touch 'Brexit threads any more because it's essentially indefensible. That's how much of a busted flush it is. It's literally the Paul Lambert of politics. [Post edited 10 Dec 2020 19:44]

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Not all Brexiteers were racist and stupid. Some were just stupid.

Destroying workers' and consumers' rights was quite openly a big part of the Brexit agenda. No secret about it. Much of the media frenzy was the pretence that the ECHR was the EU forcing us to do ridiculous things.
