More alarming news... 12:50 - Jan 22 with 7278 views | DebsyAngel | Been reading up on the Covid vaccines - and was pleased the other day that my doctors are doing it.... well that is what I thought. They are contacting patients, but sending to just 5 places in Suffolk - Trinity Park is the only one in Ipswich and that is miles from me and I do not drive. And why is it the Pfizer vaccine only? Where is this Oxford one? Where are chemists and other centres that are meant to be opening? I know it's early days but my Dad has his at his surgery and the Oxford one, due to be done on Tuesday. I just feel there is no way out of this hell. The dangled carrot moved another 6 months into the future, like it always seems to be, I cannot live like this forever. The longer it goes on, the more I will never get over the anxiety.

Mine is to be honest but i'm reluctant to take priority over something like that. I don't think I really deserve priority for being a lard arse. Was hoping asthma would save me.

More alarming news... on 22:29 - Feb 15 by J2BLUE | Well, not sure when in July your birthday is obviously but even if it's the 1st you have until the first week of June to get vaccinated and then three weeks for it to kick in so don't give up hope. That's 5-6 weeks once they start on rest of the population if they hit their April target. Maybe they'll be some pushback and we'll get priority once they do the rest of the population. Have you looked at party gazebos etc for an outside party? I was hoping to go for interviews and find a new job. I don't fancy that if i'm unvaccinated to be honest. |
I would only want them and my mum in law/brother in law round but unlikely brother in law or my husband will be vaccinated by then, and it would only be the first dose too if it was. It's the end of July. Time will tell I suppose but I am losing hope and just not getting anywhere on sorting my life and health out as I am unable to right now. I hope things change so you can get that new job, we can only hope.

No, it's in the normal range at the moment, and working to get it lower after finishing the last of my husband's cake and Xmas biscuits this weekend!

More alarming news... on 21:35 - Feb 15 by J2BLUE | Agree. I'm just annoyed that they have seemingly deliberately mislead Asthma UK for a year just to keep the pressure off. I realise there are people who need the vaccine more than I do and they should get it first. My mum has been done and my dad is in category six so i'm grateful for that. |
I fully understand that and get how illogical it seems. And I was the first to start trampling on the Suffolk Coastal MP when I thought my dad wasn’t being vaccinated fast enough😃. I guess I was just trying to give it a little perspective- Apols if I came across as a bit pompous. That wasn’t in any way the intention. As for deliberately misleading, nothing would surprise me with this lot, but I genuinely suspect it’s more capacity v many priorities and they will change. Fingers crossed for you that you get that text/call soon.

I have read that interpreting asthma, this was what was said: "Vaccines minister clarifies priority groups for asthma Vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi clarified the vaccination priority groups for those with asthma. "In category four, those with serious, extremely vulnerable cases of asthmatics would have been given the first dose in category four," he told Good Morning Britain. "Now in category six, if they have oral steroids, then they are in category six. "The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation looked at the evidence and that's what we are guided by. "I apologise if there was any confusion, I certainly don't want to have any confusion at all.". Reading this, oral steroids, I assume are the inhalers that we use? The brown one I take every day, and the blue one when needed. So maybe we are in Priority 6 after all?

Good point. I honestly had no idea there were steroids in inhalers! I'm not sure if they mean the tablet steroids though and not inhalers? I don't know if you ever had those? I had a few doses when younger. They used to be these soluble tablets which produced this awful tasting pink liquid that tasted awful. Eventually I started getting little red tablets you could just swallow which were a lot better. My dad takes a strong steroid inhaler which is pink. He was given that a severe asthma attack. My preventer is listed as having a medium adult steroid dose. I'm not holding my breath to be honest. Edit: from Asthma UK website - If you have ever had an emergency hospital admission for your asthma, or ever been prescribed three courses of steroid tablets in a three-month period, you will fall into priority group 6.
