Update:
Uber responded with a template response about pre-authorisation. I was then ignored for two days. DM'd them on Twitter and was ignored. DM'd them again and they responded saying the matter had been closed. I once again told them in detail what happened and they have said they've refunded all three orders and I have been sent three receipts for refunds. I told them repeatedly that the first of the three was legit and it was just the last two which weren't legit but they've refunded all three...
Taken down my scathing tweet and will tweet a thank you if I actually get the money back as it seems most don't.
Anyway, password changed to something truly unique and i've taken all my stored cards off the app. | |

My Deliveroo account got hacked before Xmas.
They ordered £150 worth of Burger King to a former address of ours. That was a warm-up to test it worked. They then ordered £75 of booze which got delivered to a park the hackers were obviously in some 10miles away.
It’s incredible that Deliveroo don’t block these types of orders or at least verify them. I have never ordered anything other than the odd Thai meal for two (cost about £20).
They immediately credited me and puts things right but it surprised me that these things could get through. |  | | |

Same here. Luckily I get payment notifications from using a curve card so as soon as the first one went through I was thinking sh1t and trying to stop them. I was taking stuff out of the basket as they tried to put more orders through. I'm sure they'd have got more stuff if they had more time before I blocked card. | |

Sorry to hear that. As someone said, contact your bank if you haven't already done so, most banks have a 24/7 call service for fraud.
I groan a lot at having to give my card details *every* time to retailers I use regularly for phone orders, often wish they'd just hold them on file - but you've just highlighted the probable reason that they don't do that ... |

I'd be tempted to call the police too as it goes.
It's fraud/ obtaining good by deceitful means or whatever.
At the end of the day someone's using your card fraudulently it's a legal matter and the restaurant will be obliged to give up the delivery address[es]. [Post edited 24 Jan 2021 14:03]

My ex and I were assaulted in a cinema a couple of years back when we had the temerity to ask someone to stop using their phone during the performance.
The perpetrators had scarpered by the time the police arrived, but they'd booked their seats online using their bank card. We thought that was the matter done and dusted.
No. Odeon were under no obligation to release the details to the police unless they were formally required to do so. The police didn't feel that it was an appropriate/proportional use of their powers to formally request the perpetrators' details. The whole thing got NFA-ed. |  |
