Its hardly uncertainty though, is it? Loads of clubs sack managers and have a temp period. It can be a good time to take stock and see what natural effect it has on the players and potentially staff.

There would be an argument about time etc to fight for promotion but considering he's wasted 18 months not sacking Lambert already that kind of falls on deaf ears.

It can be pretty disastrous period though. Remember the 3-0 under Chris Hutchings? The 7-0 under Charlie McParland at Chelsea, although obviously he turned things around for the Arsenal game, but with the new manager watching from the directors' box.

I think ME tends to feel a quick handover is the best approach, judging by the exits of Jim and Hurst at least.

I doubt any exit will be immediate regardless of the lack of points from these three games. As I say, ME will want the new man lined up before there's an exit, as with Jim and Paul Hurst. And, as was the case with Hurst, a couple of decent results might put a change on hold.

Must be quite difficult to line up a new manager when a couple of wins can put it on hold. Either commit to it or don't bother. Being so indecisive can't help recruiting a new manager.

Truly impaired.

Bryan Klug did not do well at Millwall with Lambert watching either.

No, and Bryan really doesn't enjoy being caretaker-manager very much.

No I don't think he does.

If and when there is a change but for whatever reason the new manager does not come in straight away do you think that Bryan Klug would automatically be put in temporary charge or maybe it would be Butch and KD this time?

I've wondered the same myself. I could see either or both being put in charge rather than Bryan, although I don't get the impression ME knows either that well, whereas he's obviously worked with Bryan for nine years.

Any possibility this will all be concluded by the Blackpool game?
