Looks like Lambert has succeeded in his interview last night 10:55 - Feb 17 with 3650 viewsBluefish

Seen so many posts on social media and here talking about how the blame is on Evans. Many of which give 100% blame to Evans, others 50%. If Lambert deflects even 5% of blame away for his disaster by playing you as fools then he has succeeded with his comments.

It's not particularly difficult is it?

Nope. Football is actually a pretty simple business. The fact Marcus Evans Group have got it so wrong is simply down to what money Marcus is prepared to put in. He only gives a sh1t about his balance sheet, which is the way of football generally I guess. And in reality what else is meant to do. Sell? Sure he would if there was a buyer that met the criteria. In the meantime, he can afford the losses, except paying Lambert off. Simple balance sheet. He (and therefore we) are reaping what he's sown, i.e. a limp and shambolic crop from the once hallowed but not fallow metaphorical turf.

I've no problem with him looking after the balance sheet, to be honest. I'd be happy enough to see us making the most we could out of the funds we have.

No manager has succeeded under Evans here. Not one. As much as I rated Mick, he scraped the Playoffs once and that was 6 years ago. Keane got us to a semi-final of something a decade ago. I am convinced that no one can succeed under Evans, the best they can manage is a Mick situation. The question is, do we really want to be League One maybe Playoff scrapers for the next decade? Because that's the best we'll get with Evans at the top, Lambert has failed, but what sort of maniac appoints your rivals failed ex manager to relegate your club?

Evans is that maniac.

No connection to Town, no clue about football.

"Lambert has failed, but what sort of maniac appoints your rivals failed ex manager to relegate your club?"

Seen in the cold light of day that's quite funny. It's so tinpot and ridiculous, it's not even depressing. This is in the classic tradition of British surreal comedy and epic failure.

Well done the Marcus Evans Group!

What is succeeded though? Mick being in and around the playoffs consistently was success. It is ridiculous to think we have a right to be better than top 10 championship in the modern game.

keane was backed beyond belief and all of others were backed well bar McCarthy. Standing still in the game can be success when the game is moving. Only Lambert has taken us this far backwards

You're re-writing history by describing Mick as having us "in and around the playoffs consistently." I like what Mick did but that is utter nonsense.

We scraped into the playoffs once and were nowhere near them other than that (don't be fooled by the 7th placed finish, that was only achieved by an incredible late run that saw us only lose 1 of our last 8 games. In reality there was far too much to do and no-one thought the playoffs were even possible).

Trust the process. Trust Phil.
