Hmm, I thought the same this morning, but after his antics on TS and gaslighting the owner, I simply can't see how tenable his role is now.

Cant imagine many bosses being happy with their employee going on national radio saying the CEO is useless, and the company is a mess.

Its the start of the end.

Evans doesn't care. He doesn't want to pay out any more than he has to and won't sack him until it's too late.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

It seems he is happy to let the club tread water until the season is over (mathematically not able to achieve promotion). Clearly something in place in terms of PL's contract and a settlement if not gained promotion / play-offs.

If ME wanted promotion at all costs this year, PL would have been gone by now.

The added pressure of the salary cap has now been removed, so not quite sh*t or bust this year as previously thought.

He's toast. It's a when not if, there's absolutely no coming back from this and we know the owner is tapping up replacements already. Why Evans delays the inevitable for so long I'll never know, perhaps he's hoping Lambert will do the honourable thing and offer his resignation, but I think that's highly unlikely.
