It goes to show how much PL has managed to con ME , it's shocking and made even worse that he somehow managed to get the 5 year contract .

ME needs to look very hard at the way he handles things - surely he must install a DOF who knows about football , whoever he appoints as manager next .

PL was very clever when he came here with all his PR stuff , but it didn't last long

His win ratio since Norwich must be awful

I never realised how bad his record was at Stoke. Wikipedia says he won his first game against Huddersfield and then went 13 games without a win before beating Swansea on the last day, once both teams were already relegated.

That he did a decent job at Stoke has popped up on here quite a few times since he’s been here. As recently as yesterday in fact - I’ve written more detailed responses as to why he really didn’t but to summarise:

A bit baffled by the Stoke comment. Their fans would know more than me clearly but under his command they achieved basically the same ppg, were relegated with games to spare and having won his first game, then only won once more which was a dead rubber against also already relegated Swansea on the last day

Was he buying pints and writing nice things about the fans in the programme there too?

......and then you give him a five year deal while he's still underperforming?

That was the real issue. Why on earth give such a long extension without a track record of success lasting more than a few months (Aug - Oct of that season, following a fairly feeble relegation)? Then ties the club's hands financially if sacking becomes necessary.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?
