Am I watching the same Troy Parrott as everyone else 17:01 - Mar 6 with 4123 viewsTRUE_BLUE123

He’s played a few games now and I still have no idea what he is good at. Gets knocked off the ball by the wind, never really looks like scoring. Not particularly fast or skilful. Maybe I’m missing something?

I think he started well here but has gradually started to be ground down by our lack of quality

The amount of work rate he puts into a game, it's probably not surprising that he isn't quite as sharp as he first looked when he came in.

I felt he'd directly contributed to our improved play and definitely seemed to be getting more out of both Norwood and Judge in particular.

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Talented kid, he’s not a number 10 who can link midfield and attack. But I don’t think we have a decent one in the club right now so it’s a case of needs must I guess

Poll: Would love to know the opinions on here now of Lambert genuinely?

Agree with the OP as well - obviously he might be the next Harry Kane or whatever, but if you bring in a loan signing they've got to be significantly better than what you've got now. And he quite obviously isn't. That isn't his fault, but it also isn't unfair for people to point that out.

For a comparison, the guy who scored Gillingham's last two goals, both excellent finishes, was signed as a free agent in the summer after being released by Northampton as a 29 year-old - based on the match you'd have said he was the one with the big future in the game.

I think, like a few others, 5 starts in 2 weeks was too much for him after not having played a lot of football before that.

He looked tired yesterday but he’s been absolute quality since coming here. His work rate is second to none and has brought out the best in Norwood.

The only thing missing has been a goal but he’s been very unfortunate. Hit the post yesterday. Hit the post last week and has forced some good saves. If he was okayed fighter forward he’d have more chances to score.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

He definitely works really, really hard, and agree that yesterday he just looked knackered, certainly in the second half, and generally I like the look of him as a player. Just think that it was probably an unnecessary loan and we're better off using our resources, except in situations where the loanee is obviously a class above our players like Fraser, Celina, Dos Santos, Williams etc., or where we've got an injury crisis. Having said that if we didn't have Harrop, Bennetts and Thomas knocking around as well it wouldn't look so bad.
