New manager on 20:40 - Mar 12 by Swansea_Blue | They didn't against Gillingham. He seems like a decent choice, but I don't see how everyone can be so certain that he's going to be a massive success. He's got his work cut out here off the back of 13 years of decline. Let's hope he does it, but the odds are stacked against him. |
Good managers arrive with the odds stacked in their favour. As you will see

I'm certain as PC is one of very very few managers we have hired that has 0 Negative results of managing a club in England and hasn't got a massive gap in his employment history, he has always achieved what he targeted to do and in good time too.

I am in the managers need time camp. I'd happily see him here for 5 years and give him the time to try and turn it around, however I know the fans will start jumping on him after a year or so if he doesn't find that immediate success. That's just how it is here. I think McCarthy was the only manager Evans appointed that got more than 1 full season. Keane had one in 2009/10, Jewell just one in 2011-12 and Lambert just one 2019-20. Hurst didn't even get a season. That kind of dumps all over the notion that's being spun in the press about Evans giving managers time. You can't really expect managers to change the world in just 1 full season.
