In shock.... 14:41 - Mar 19 with 5822 views | DebsyAngel | Got a text to book my vaccine at 1145 - took it up and given the choices of today, tomorrow or Sunday. I am crap at doing things with no planning, but have booked in tomorrow at Trinity Park 1045 am. I called my doctors to check if I am ok to get my Dad to take me, even though he lives separately and it is fine to. I am shocked at scraping in this quickly, but also relieved as having to wait until May like I thought the other day after the news on the delayed supplies, made me go on a downward spiral. I have had palpitations,, clammy and so scared - just hope I can sleep later on!

In shock.... on 11:08 - Mar 22 by J2BLUE | Broken for a third day in a row. 873,784 in a single day. 27 vaccines per second. Absolutely insane effort. |
That is absolutely brilliant. I must admit though, I have still felt uncertain and scared that any kind of normality is going to be scuppered by people refusing the vaccine despite reports saying they do not cause blood clots, and all these riots and rule breaking still going on. I do not want another year of all that we were promised being destroyed and even feeling doubtful that Christmas will be "normal" now. I know it's me, being pessimistic, but just want to see/hug my family and friends again.

I don't blame you for being worried. I don't think it will be an issue though because take up seems to be very high. Also we have the summer coming where it naturally went down last year so anyone waiting to make sure they don't have any negative effects have time to get one before autumn. Some news which I think is very good from the last few days is the hint that people won't be able to go abroad on holiday. Some won't like it but it's such an obvious sacrifice to make for one year just to protect our progress. Really hope they say holidays in this country only. It's all looking up. I know it's felt like forever but hopefully we really are coming to the end of this now. Fingers crossed.

I agree with the no holidays abroad thing, but the entitled will stamp their feet and demand to go. What is so wrong exploring your own country when we have so many lovely places? I have not had a proper holiday in about 12 years, the last one was a weekend in Manchester in October 2019, but had the extreme anxiety go into overdrive, triggered by that awful train journey on those tilting trains, where I nearly passed out at Euston station. I would be happy if I could see my parents, hug them, and have a few hours in town looking for vinyl records in the charity shops, and also getting back to the football and the occasional night out in a pub. Not much, but want to take it slow to build my confidence up.

That sounds like a good idea. Hopefully they'll just be allowed to stamp their feet and completely ignored! Why we would even consider risking everything for a few people to go abroad I really don't know. As you say, some people are entitled!

Getting your first jab is a step on the road to normality, that's how I felt when I got mine this morning. It doesn't matter if a few loons refuse it, we'll be protected. Christmas will be fine this year IMO. I'm also hoping to celebrate last Christmas in the summer - still have my family's presents here. I think it'll be fun to have a summer Christmas. You gotta have fun with it and look on the positive side!

In shock.... on 11:48 - Mar 22 with 314 views | wkj | The vaccination roll out has been one of the few things the country has done well in a myriad of covid own goals. Nothing to be scared about, but it is very important to make sure you don't plan on doing anything to extensive for a couple of days when you have your second jab. The lethargy and side effects of the second jab are not really side effects at all, it is a sign your jab is working. Be Safe, Be happy and Be well - this is your tangible moment of proof that life is returning to normal.

Yes, great shout. Lady Dollers loves Australia after living there for a year. I'll order some cork hats instead of Christmas hats!
