In shock.... 14:41 - Mar 19 with 5820 views | DebsyAngel | Got a text to book my vaccine at 1145 - took it up and given the choices of today, tomorrow or Sunday. I am crap at doing things with no planning, but have booked in tomorrow at Trinity Park 1045 am. I called my doctors to check if I am ok to get my Dad to take me, even though he lives separately and it is fine to. I am shocked at scraping in this quickly, but also relieved as having to wait until May like I thought the other day after the news on the delayed supplies, made me go on a downward spiral. I have had palpitations,, clammy and so scared - just hope I can sleep later on!

In shock.... on 15:01 - Mar 19 by SitfcB | I’m a right pussy when it comes to injections, mind you can’t remember the last time I even had one. But I’ve heard the needle for these jabs aren’t even the size of a hair and can’t even feel it. |
I'm the same. Considering how much ink is on my arms, nurses always laugh when I say I'm not good with needles. For the covid jab I had, I didn't even believe the nurse had done it. Literally felt nothing.

One of my anaesthetic colleagues swears by what he calls the 'tattoos to teeth ratio' when assessing the likelihood of how difficult to access someone's veins are likely to be.

In shock.... on 18:14 - Mar 19 with 2806 views | Guthrum | I had a similar scenario (tho not in Ipswich). Text arrived with option to book the following day. Which, unsurprisingly, I did. The process really is very swift and straightforward. Hope it all goes well for you - and you manage to get some sleep.

Thank you for asking J2! I found it really well organised up Trinity Park, and all the staff were excellent. The man on the door before you get signed in was a terrific guy, chatty and sympathetic. The jab itself, did not feel a thing, but that was not what I was worried about! Felt dizzy and headache and so tired since got home. Arm does not hurt in the slightest yet. I am so glad I did it though.

Well hopefully no more than a couple of days feeling generally out of sorts then all good (that's what my relatives who have had the AZ vaccine have told me anyway)

Well done Debsy! That’s a massive hurdle cleared and one less thing to worry about. There is light at the end of the tunnel!

Thanks! My next one is 4 June. But reading about a rise in cases does not make me feel more secure. The delay for vaccines in April is no help, I just want this to be over, but at the moment, despite the excellent take up of vaccinations and terrific work by the NHS, it seems a long way off.

I don't know if you've seen that the UK has broken the covid jab record for second day in a row? 711,000 done in the 24 hours before the last update so we're getting there. There's definitely light ahead

Wow - I had not seen that figure! Amazing work! I and a man I overheard in the cubicle next to mine (he was 11 days older than me!) was saying he only got a phonecall last night to come in.

This thread reminded me I got the text this morning so I've just clicked the link... and booked for Monday morning. It's also literally a 7 or 8 minute walk from my house, which is handy.

I was asleep when I got my text. I woke up, glanced at my phone and jumped up like i'd just found a golden ticket in a bar of Willy Wonka...

In shock.... on 20:42 - Mar 20 with 2591 views | Churchman | There you go. I’m so pleased for you. No need to be scared. It’s organised very well and you will be sorted before you know it. Side effects range from none whatsoever, like a couple of friends of mine this week, to feeling a bit heady as I did for a chunk of the following day to feeling a little bit worse than that for a day, like Mrs C. It really doesn’t matter. The protection you will get is all that matters. All good. [Post edited 20 Mar 2021 20:54]

Best of luck and hope it all goes ok! My Dad was happy to give me a lift and we did it as safely as we could.

Haha. Must admit I was surprised. I was expecting it to be in the middle of summer or something. Lady Dollers is on a birthday party zoom call at the mo and one of her mates, who's younger than me, just said she's had it... and that several in their 30's have already had it depending on what borough they're in.

Glad to hear it, give it three weeks and your immune system will have kicked in properly. My arm didn’t hurt until the day after so you may still have that.

Broken for a third day in a row. 873,784 in a single day. 27 vaccines per second. Absolutely insane effort.
