Just tuned into BBC Four....first track played was arguably The Stones's greatest track.....Gimme Shelter. Still sends shivers down the spine when I hear it .
Friday nights on BBC Four are generally hugely entertaining.

Same same, I prefer the 60's stuff.
Are you a big Stones fan? I have a friend in Amsterdam who is good friends with Keith Richards and he (My friend, not Keith) invited me to go on tour with them in South America about three or for years ago.
What would you have done? I knew if I had gone it would have ended up in immediate divorce. To be genuinely honest I would have taken the divorce but I couldn't have handled the fallout from the kids.
*** Thinking about it further I should have gone but although my Mrs and I aren't exactly soul mates I couldn't have bared being over there while she was upset. I guess I'm too much of a wet tart when all said and done.
Divorce? I would have killed for that!

I know. It was certainly a dilemma but I didn't really mention it. I casually remarked that Frank has invited me to Rio to hang about with The Stones and she just looked at me as if I were a mad man.
I genuinely think i am under appreciated at home.
“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.”

Tell your wife the one about you on the train, I am sure that she will like that one.
Did she ever get that handbag or whatever it was that you bought for her?

I can't tolerate Bill Wyman. He was on record of going with Mandy Smith when she was 14 or 15. I still can't understand why it has never since been spoken about.
In any case, Ronnie Wood is more of a Stone, even though he got there a bit late.
I have probably bored you before about my last Stones episode - but if you don't mind I will repeat myself because I never tire of reminiscing.
I had a bundle of tickets for Hyde Park, I think it was 2013. Anyhoo, I took the Mrs, kids, honorary daughter and best mate. It was a blast, one of my top 5 days in my life.
Anyhoo - the queue to the bar was not worth considering to attempt - and this is from a borderline alcoholic. Not 100% sure but we might have had a bit of chang keeping us going. Anyway, what happened was - I looked down at the floor at one point and spotted a whole case of individual bottles of wine. By an act of God I reckon one of the trolleys replenishing the bars had dropped this case at my feet.
Praise the lord
Was there me and my mate went to the flying Scotsman before hand.
Top gig, not as good as Wembley in 98 for the bridges to Babylon tour but better than millennium stadium (terrible gig venue) for the 40 licks tour

My favourite Stones song too and one of the best intros of all time. Still gives me shivers. I've seen the Stones many times the most memorable of which was at Twickenham Stadium early noughties. The highlight for me was Gimme Shelter. From a 2nd row seat, I saw Jagger and Lisa Fischer screaming at each other "It's just a kiss away, kiss away..." Awesome. The Young brothers from ACDC joined them on stage at one point for a great rendition of Rock Me Baby. I was earning good money then and I'd spent over a grand on eBay for a pair of the best tickets available but due to a last moment 'domestic' I'd ended up going alone. After the gig I was queuing to get out of the carpark opposite, top down with stones music playing and two girls and a bloke came over and asked me if I was going into London. I said no I wasn't but when they told me they'd missed the transport that had been laid on to take them to the official after party at a hotel in Marylebone I realised I'd said Yes I Am wrong. One of the girls (they were both beautiful) had long blond hair and a gorgeous Texan drawl. Turned out she was Jerry Hall's niece. I had to stop at a garage for her to get smokes. I can still visualise her in the passenger seat with her Texan beauty and her long blond hair trailing in the wind elegantly smoking and chatting away in her accent. Of course the Stones themselves were too cool to go to the afterparty. Apparently they'd repaired to Jagger's suite at Claridge's. All the backing musicians were there though. I met Lisa amongst others. Unfortunately I felt I had to decline most of the ahem imbibements that were on offer as I had to drive home at some point (I should have just booked into the hotel). I had a couple of drinks with the Texan lady though. Got on well with her. Under different circumstances...(well I like to dream!)

Mate, the first part of this story is possibly the best I've ever seen, heard, read. Ever.
I thought you were gonna end up balls deep in blondey, pissed, high as a kite and chuffing cigars.

The victim was Robert Stigwood (future manager of the BeeGees) during a row over the management of The Small Faces I think.
That is correct. Arden was an old school sort, having fcuked over Gene Vincent as well i think. The Small faces were paying for themselves without knowing it. Stigwood had tried to poach them, though they ended up on Oldhams Immediate label, and once again the money dissapeared!
