New owners will of course want their own man in the summer if Town fail to get promoted. Paul Cook is doomed. Discuss

The takeover team were part of the hiring process, with both ME and GC20 agreeing Cook was the right man.

O'Leary said yesterday there won't be a change of manager here. I'm not sure it would be the smartest play to replace a man with so much success at this level in my honest opinion.

FFS they hired him. The PR reason "he was the top of both lists" ..

Aka we can't let slip due to Lamberts payoff/compo that we had any hand in it.

They said he was top of their list - as a cynic might suggest they would whether he was or otherwise - but not that they hired him. First contact with the new owners was yesterday.

Anyone who has watched the first few minutes of the interview with Mike O'Leary and Brett Johnson on the ITFC can tell you that this is not so.

We have no idea in reality if the new owners wanted Cook or not - they'd say yes regardless.

But it's quite clear there's lots of work to do for them and I can't see their first move of the close season being to waste a load of money changing a manager who's not had an opportunity to bring his own players in yet.
