EU being silly over vaccines again 11:18 - Apr 26 with 6539 viewsPinewoodblue

A French company , Valneva,, have failed to reach an agreement with regards to their Covid vaccine currently at phase 3 trial level.

The reason being they will not agree to all the condition the EU want to impose. Basically it is a repeat of what happened with AZ. UK government signed up for 100m doses last September and assisted financially in the development, and building of the plant in Scotland.

We have priority on order fulfillment.

But your still extrapolating the information beyond what it can prove.

I absolutely accept that a education improves intelligence but that's not the same as saying a lack of.Education means a lack of intelligence, I think my carrot analogy did a good job of demonstrating why I say that. Educatiion is is not the only factor in determining intelligence either so to narrow in on that as evidence what disregarding those many other things only paints part of a picture.

I can't offer evidence to prove the negative without as I say asking everyone who voted to take an IQ test as well as several other laterally and critical thinking tests, but that doesnt make the hypothesis incorrect but I conceded the data isn't out there simply because it the tests required to produce it haven't been undertaken.

I understand why you were making the point and as I have said the OP is can not be demonstrated either.

You have proven that education makes people smarter but there are unknowns, how smart are people to begin with before that benefit, what other factors contribute to improved intelligence other than just education. You drawing a full conclusion by extension of evidence of one thing without considering (or having) a full data set to do so.

I wasn't trying to have a row, I think if you look through my posts I accept a lot of what you are saying just not to the degree you want whixh is fair enough.

I'm happy to disagree, I just enjoyed the discussion.

The evidence doesn't say that education makes people smarter, it says that those with more education are more intelligent. It says that based on the data it's not really possible to know whether that's because people who are more intelligent naturally seek more education or whether education helps to nurture intelligence.

But that doesn't really matter, the key thing is that more education correlates with higher intelligence. On that basis it is reasonable to say that where one group is more highly educated than another group, that group will, on average, be more intelligent. The study I posted is based on a meta-analysis of studies containing a total of 600k participants. It's pretty rigorous stuff. You may not like its conclusions but saying that people on benefits can navigate the benefits system isn't really a counter-argument to a corpus of research data.

I think we're done to be honest. All you're really doing is misunderstanding, deliberately or otherwise, the arguments being presented and then responding with anecdotes or meaningless analogies in lieu of any evidence. That and the straw manning is all a bit much to be honest. I think I've proven my point, repeatedly.

Well I disagree I think all you've proved is that education does I deed equal interest and then extrapolated beyond what it actually proves to try and make your point. I think you've only made half an argument and ignored all the reasons I have offered as to why thats the case. Benefits is a case in point its not presented as a counter argument in itself but just one example of Intelligencei is can be me messages or seen if differnt ways which you seem deriemrned to ignore.

I think I've clearly explained that futility in trying to prove the negative and given a clear explanation as to what would be required to do so.

I've provided clear analogy to deconstruct your argument whixh again you ignored.

You are taking your evidence further than it supports and it's is a simple as that. I don't need to prove a negative, I only need to demonstrate why your position doesn't hold which I feel I've done with several reasoned arguments that you have glossed over in each reply.

But again, happy disagree. It's still be a fun chat

Yeah, none of that is really accurate. But have a good day nonetheless.

Of course it is.

You've proved point A and then said on the basis of that it follows to point B and though that may logical it doesn't make it true, by taking that next step you are making an assumption and thats not eviential. we can't do that regardless of logical that assumption might be it is an assumption none the less.

But no matter.

This has all been much more fun than work. I wish equally glad tidings
