Apparently, joined the race to sign Jordan Rhodes on 13:24 - Apr 28 by Herbivore | Just checked that stat and it's not accurate (according to the BBC at least). Look at Rhodes' trajectory, he's not been very good for a long time. Everyone has always known his all round game wasn't great but that didn't matter when he was scoring 20+ goals a season. He's been a journeyman for the better part of 5 years. He's not remotely what we need. |
Rhodes has 7 league goals in 1375 mins = goal per 196mins Norwood has 6 goals in 1319 mins = goal per 219mins Neither are great but at least Rhodes goals are in the championship, and in a really struggling team too as another caveat.

Did you know, he’s now playing at Melbourne Victory with Ben Folami?

You'd better take it up with the BBC, their stats say different. Either way I stand by my points on this thread. He's not been a consistent goalscorer for years and when that's more or less all he brings to a side, and we need a striker who can do more than just finish, I'd really like us to steer well clear.

Now you mention it I think I remember seeing he was there when Ben F signed or scored his first goal but had forgotten until you reminded me.

Yeah for any vaguely detailed statistics I wouldn't use BBC. Mine were pulled from whoscored. I understand about having a more rounded striker that offers more than just goals - I'm guessing that's going to be more suited to how Cook wants us to play. Its hard to tell because I have absolutely no idea what he wants from his ITFC team because we've not really seen that so far. Again, I still think he would be a good player at League One and certainly better than what we currently have. Can we go out and get better this summer? Let's hope so.

I do think if we detach ourselves from the fact we've had them before, be it a decade ago, that we would ordinarily welcome this sort of signing. Ex-Players always receive a groan from our fanbase though as a step backward but Ipswich have fallen so far we really cannot be picky when a Rhodes type player comes up we should probably take it, as the "young and exciting" mob the fans wanted just got us relegated anyway. |
i would rather have emanuell and garbutt back myself. two fullbacks who have pace and can defend, that would be a novelty. look at what we kept compared to them two.
