That's almost as many as pulled me and some mates the other day for a friendly chat / education about riding at appropriate speeds on Northamptonshire roads
Four police cars, one marked bike, one unmarked bike plus the copper holding the speed gun / trap and the supervisor copper. Eight of her majesty's finest.

Thats probably because you are an evo driving bellend or you have spent you life savings on a 220d and had it chipped, either way you are a menace.

Well if that what it takes to get cyclists off the roads then I’m all for such a heavy handed police response.

I got close to 40 mph coming down the Cat and Fiddle on my Lejog. Couple of cars couldn't keep up through the bends :-)
That's proper dangerous though, lyrca isn't exactly going to save a lot of skin if you take a tumble at that speed. But sometimes, it's got to be done.

You do realise you're a 'person of interest' because of your continuing interactions with the police, don't you? You're flagged on ANPR systems.

Only partly.

Still at a bit of loss while I was pulled tbh, given it's perfectly legal to drive without a car door. In fact Jeep and a few others even sell some cars without doors.

But it ain't a crime!
No, I get that. Just citing that would be why.
I got pulled up in my van, (for the hundredth time, and actually for the 3rd time that evening), on this occasion and this idiot cop kept insisting it should have a tacho.
It was a 3 and half ton van.
Whilst he's arguing and then searching the cab I wandered off for a chat with his mate who was sitting in the police car. He admitted he didn't have a clue and was just as bemused at the fuss his mate was making as I was.
I asked him if he could save us all a bit of time and further embarrassment by calling it in, which he was happy to do.
It was a nice feeling to watch him go and fetch the other one from my vehicle to tell him he was wrong.
But when they want to pull you over they will, as you know. It was the 3rd pull on a 25 minute drive from Thetford to Bury.

They're not always wrong though. The copper who fined me for driving with my arm out the window in Malawi, I checked it later (thinking of making a complaint) and it really is a traffic offense.

Arm out of the window eh? Blimey, that is strict.
I don't suppose the grounds for that were clear?
Like you, I'd have assumed it to be a ruse.
Got one in South Africa for 'parking the wrong way on a street'. That was a camera (via the car hire company) and again I checked it and it is a parking offense in SA - you are supposed to park the same direction as the traffic.
Nigerian police were a bit more liberal in applying fines my favourite fine was for 'not driving close enough to the car in front'.

I got a parking ticket in Houston for the same thing. When I went to pay it I asked whether it was an offence in all parts of the US, but the person taking the money only knew about Texas regulations.
