Birmingham and Forest have now had cat 1 academies approved.
If i've read it right, Leeds were approved last summer to upgrade to it too
So that's 3 sides we've lost from the Academy league.
We really need to put our money into Cat 1 IF the Academy is going to flourish, otherwise we might as well scrap it. It's getting smaller, the quality of games will get getting worse.

The club pushed it as Premier League protectionism but more EFL clubs gone from 2 to 1 in recent years

Yeah, the cat 2 league in effect, doesn't look that great at all and certainly doesn't help you develop players to a certain standard
The cost of cat 1 apparently is roughly 2.5 Mill now. We've got to get at it | |

I know it was something which was very seriously being looked at again before Covid so would think it would be part of the thinking going forward. |  | | |
