I agree. With several high quality signings in place and Dobra back with the first team, things are now shaping up very nicely. Reading between the lines, I suspect that Cook rates Nolan and Nsiala more highly than our previous manager did. If he does, I agree with him. |  |

Suspect that of those 14, El Miz and Nbada are more likely to be out on loan rather than in the first team squad come the start of the season.I can see Nolan being in the squad and possibly Donacien if he can play the way Cook wants his full backs to play. These are the four players that Cook has not seen.
So I would say another 8, possibly more are still needed.

Agree with this apart from I think Burns would cover RB and if you have 2 WMs there should be cover.
Think one of the signings will be able to play across the front 3.

I don't think there will be any set number incomings, because we don't know total outgoings yet.
We are steadily building a squad that PC is wanting, a tighter knit group. Ashton is handling the trading with PC, there has been a lot of deadwood exiting the door, players who PC doesn't want with him.
This isn't an overnight trick, it's a large (much needed) transition and overhaul this summer, but we have people in place to handle the overhaul/transition, so let's leave it with them to do so and let's not have another panic attack if we don't sign somebody in the next 48 hours. |  |

Some of those currently in the first XI camp are effectively on trial. No guarantees that they will be in the first team once the season starts. Holy may be in the squad for now simply as we do not have another senior keeper. There has been lots of talk about signing two keepers this summer. | | | |

Why not? That’s like saying he has not seen Burns play? Or any new signing?
Holy could be an exception as without him there would be no keeper, but him staying as backup makes sense too.
