Why are so many teams not wearing their proper kits? on 09:47 - Jul 7 by ChiefXL
It's exactly this UEFA works really closely with colour-blind and visually impaired charities (I'm not making this up) and the light/dark contrast is the most helpful for them
So tonight will either be England in white vs Denmark in red or England in blue vs Denmark in white. It cannot be England in blue and Denmark in red.
One of the things the NFL gets right is effectively every team has a colour kit and a change strip of white (bar Dallas who have white as home kit).
It elimates the need for 3rd shirts, unnecessary away kits and the like - in every game one team is in white and the other in a colour.
Across the last few major tournaments it has become obvious that this is happening in football to an extent, I was aware that it was due to people having B&W TVs in parts of the world to help, but not the bit you've noted about visually impaired etc which is interesting and worthwhile.
I'd quite like to see football go that way in it's entirety - ITFC will be doing it this year with Blue at home and White away kit.......but difficult with array of stripes and halved shirts we have in this country

England wearing Blue shorts tonight which gives a good look to the kit

Portugal haven't worn green shorts for some time. They are returning to them with their next kit however.
Italy's first choice kit at the moment is navy shorts. If England make the final they'll likely wear all white unless Italy wear white shorts, then it'll be navy shorts for England.
They wore them in one of the games during this tournament.
