To be fair, I’m disappointed in myself.
It always used to annoy the hell out me as a kid that we were invariably away on holiday for the start of the season, but season would usually start late to mid August.
Now I’m control of my own life (loosely anyway), they’ve brought the start forward to the first weekend in August, and to fit a two week holiday in when school finishes, that still means missing the start of the season.
The one benefit of last season was that it didn’t start until later, so clashing with holiday wasn’t an issue. |  |

I’m gutted to miss the first game, but we’re away with KJ’s mum… only from the Friday night til the Sunday morning… I didn’t dare suggest heading back for a few hours on the Saturday… |  |
