Is it literally only a chance if it ends in a goal or a shot on target?
Just asking as for me, it could be a chance when the ball is whipped in dangerously across the 6 yard box after a string of 3/4 passes in an attacking phase of play or a defender makes a last gasp dive to stop you having a free shot at goal in the area after you've been played in
Only asking as i've seen it about on here so far this evening and it does baffle me a bit as I Felt we created plenty of 'chances' |  |

What you are describing is just decent attacking play.

It went pretty much as I thought it would, well maybe not defensive errors being the cause though
I said yesturday for me we're kinda in a 2nd phase of a pre season with gelling etc, similar to other sides with such a high turnover of players and it is indeed that. Time to get in some defensive reinforcements and a month to really get the team on the same wavelengh
Overall though, it was a positive performance | |

Unfortunately a lot of people look at the BBC stats and make their own assumptions. 2-goals and at least 4 or 5 decent openings / chances that went narrowly wide. Room for improvement for sure and we need to make the keeper work more but it wasn’t bad today - it was definitely a marked improvement on last season.
Bringing Bonne and Norwood on felt like we’d get back in the game which proved to be the case. I think that confidence will be evident with a number of combinations this season with Dobra, Barry and Jacobs in the mix too. Good to see. |  |

Yes but a goal bound shot that's blocked by a defender (who is not last man regardless of them being in the way) is not counted as a shot. So you could be absolutely dominant taking shots that are blocked and the stats say it's not even an attempt. |  |

We lacked movement up front. The players didn't slide the passes through because they couldn't read the runs or weren't sure they'd be made. When they did, they were well weighted and the control in receiving was good. As a result we played a bit with the handbrake on. This is what will take time, having the confidence in your team mates. |  | | |
