Part of me is being a pragmatic with our current situation, with all the changes over the summer and players needing time to gel etc.
But on the flip side, these players we have brought in should be good and able enough to beat Morecambe, Newport and Burton with thier abilities.
Cook's honeymoon period is well and truly over and as yet, we haven't seen anything from him in his time here that suggests he is the man to charge us to promotion, regardless of all the caveats, although I still have some confidence that he can be the man to take us up, but that could just be blind faith.
I dunno, I seem to be contradicting myself here, but I'm really not sure where I stand on the current situation.
Maybe I'll come to a better conclusion after ten games, that's my hope anyway. |  |

Totally agree.
Out of interest, how does an international manager like Gareth Southgate managed to "gel" a squad of strangers so quickly? I appreciate they're not complete strangers but nevertheless... |

Lot of Southgate's lot have played together in youth internationals and in club football, which probably helps.
But also, each international cycle between tournaments is 2 years and easily 30/40 games and if there is a demonstrable effect for "gelling" new players, I reckon you're talking months and >10 games, rather than whole seasons. |  |

I think a lot of people on here vastly underestimate what it means by, “needing to gel”. It might be several weeks more yet before this happens given we’re still getting bodies in. |

Please can we just give this new regime a chance and support it like it’s going out of fashion because it’s NOT unreasonable to allow these players until at least Christmas ( which is no time at all in the grand scheme of things ), to gel or bed in . Honestly I despair at some if comments by done Town fans in the media and on here . It’s embarrassing to read it. |  |
