A thread specifically for new chants/ideas 14:14 - Aug 15 with 7884 viewsThe_Romford_Blue

All well and good moaning at those of us who went yesterday but let’s have some ideas for some new chants. Even if only one on the whole thread eventually catches on, it’ll be worth it.

Thought of three the last couple of weeks. Posted one on here already:
1)
Scotty Frasers magic
He wears a magic hat
He used to play for MK
But he said no f*** that
He came to play for Ipswich
To wear the blue and white
And when we reach the championship
We’ll sing this song all night

Oh... Scotty Frasers Magic...

2)
Ashton had a dream
To build our football team
We signed 6 strikers so he filled our team up with goals
We play from the back
We build in attack
We’re Ipswich town
We’re on our way back!

3)
Ole ole
Ole ole
Macauley Bonne Bonne Bonne

The tune is exactly the sort of thing we should sing immediately before kick off. I am not aware anybody else uses that tune, and it leads itself to everybody joining in. So I personally think you’re in to something unique, and worthy of serious consideration.

To me it’s something that everybody could join in every side of the ground , I love the Sheffield united song when sung loudly it makes the hairs on the back of yer neck stand up , we need something similar

Barenaked ladies - our blue dot:

This blue lot is the only shot we've got
If it turns from blue to grey there'll be no way
To turn it back, that's not okay
It's our hometown, we won't let it burn down
It's only fair, let's dream to dare, Ipswich Town we'll always care
Let's look after our blue lot

From about 0:40 for the melody.

All the chapel bells were ringing,
In the little market town.
I could hear the North Stand singing,
Edward Ebeneezer Brown.

Blue and white were the team's colours,
As so many years before.
Let me join them in the stand,
Ipswich brothers hand in hand
And we'll sing until we score.

Not sure how known this chant is to everyone but I learnt of it at Portsmouth and then got it in the pub at Tranmere too.

Whigfield - Saturday Night:
Saturday night and I like the way you move, EL MIZOUNI

Can't remember if there was a second part or if it was just repeated, but this chant was very big at Tranmere away.

One for Facter's?

Team we love
Plays in blue and white
Team we love
Plays in blue and white
Well that Ipswich team
Are feckin dynamite

Ipswiiiiiiiiich
Watch them win again
Ipswiiiiiiiiich
Watch them win again
Watch the Town break forward
Going like a train.

I sing this version every time the song comes on the radio haha. Can’t remember when I first heard it at Town but I know Texters made it originally

1:50 onwards

My kind of town, Ipswich is
My kind of town, Ipswich is
My kind of people too
People who cheer the Blues

And each time I roam, Ipswich is
Calling me home, Ipswich is
The Willis Building, Ipswich is
Sir Alf and Bobby, Ipswich is
One town that won't let you down
It's my kind of town

I posted these in the other thread but here you go…

Well done, good effort. Just need to get them out there and sung by more people. More you sing them, the more people will join in. Like the video ones too.

Made a few more little graphics so you can send them to yer pals and get them spread about.

Logical song for Edwards is perfect. The troops all enjoyed singing that for Garbutt back in the day. That Babybird one is excellent too.

There he was just a-walkin' down the street, singin'
'Cameron Burgess is wearing white and blue'
Snappin' his fingers and shufflin' his feet, singin'
'Cameron Burgess is wearing white and blue'
He looks good (Looks good)
He looks fine (Looks fine)
He looks good, he looks fine

I’m trying to make the last line fit, but I just can’t, I must be singing it wrong 😳

Reckon it’s a decent away game chant, much like ‘AINT no body like luke Varney’ also got a good airing, and people bouncing

Replace ‘burn that mother down’ with that line.

Yeah I agree mate, good easy one innit. Not sure about your other one above mind 😂

Far too complex for fans that normally struggle to sing blue army in unison 🤪
Will give it a go tho

Speaking of old chants can we reuse the Alan Lee, Goal! one.

Works for Joe Piggott - may have to wait for him to score first tho

Perhaps there is a lyricist amongst us who can adapt the chorus of Ed Sheeran's 'Take Me Back to London'

Currently goes like this.......

Jet plane headed up to the sky (to the sky)
Spread wings in the clouds, getting high (woop, woop)
We ain't hit a rave in a while (in a while)
So take me back to London
Bass high, middle night, ceilin' low (ceilin' low)
Sweat brow drippin' down, when in Rome (when in Rome)
No town does it quite like my home
So take me back to London (yo)

Rave = Game
London = Ipswich
Rome = Town

Thoughts?

I think ‘feed the pig and he will score’ is just too obvious to sing for him.
Piss easy to remember and it’ll catch on

This could turn out to be James Norwood all over again.

So here goes with my effort - obviously helps if you know the tune!

Our town winning games on the Sky (on the Sky)
Scoring goals, three more points, getting high (woop, woop)
We ain't lost a game in a while (in a while)
So take me back to Ipswich

Press high, middle fight, conceding none (conceding none)
Us all, cheering down, when in Town (when in Town)

No team does it quite like my own
So take me back to Ipswich (yo)
