... as this place is the fountain of all knowledge! Off up to Liverpool for a few days next week. Any decent places to eat out at? Breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Travelling up Sunday morning, and got a bit of spare time in the afternoon (we're at Chester Zoo Monday, Beatles stuff on the Tuesday), so was wondering any other decent sights to see etc? We're staying on the Albert Dock.

Cheers all.

Panoramic 34 was the last place I ate at in Liverpool. We also stayed on the docks, and a really short walk.

Beautiful place to eat.

Its worth taking a walk down Bold street - a good selection of smaller chains and independent food shops. Mowgli street food is really good....

This is a good starting point for browsing the different independent restaurants (and any discounts you may be able to get) the city has to offer: https://independent-liverpool.co.uk/profiles/?profile_category=restaurants

Before I give you any recommendations, my disclaimer would be that I haven't been to any of the restaurants since the pandemic started, so service, quality and prices are all subject to change. However, most of them should have decent websites where you can check them out a little first.

I used to go to The Tavern ( http://www.tavernco.co.uk/#order-online) quite a lot for breakfast. It was somewhat pricey but was regarded as the best breakfast in the country for a good few years. Lots of American, and Mexican style breakfasts and they also do a lunch menu which I have heard good things about. The only other criticism would be that it is in the Wavertree area, which isn't the nicest, and is a little bit out of town, where the students live during term time. If you go for breakfast, make sure you get there sharp as it gets busy quickly.

Another one at the same end of town is TriBeCa ( http://www.tribeca-liverpool.co.uk/) who do some great pizzas. They used to have another in the city centre although I believe that has closed, although there is another one in Manchester if memory serves correct. They did some unusual toppings and although it was always a bit hipster, it was always a good eat.

There is a great Moroccan restaurant on Bold Street, which is a great little city centre street with several good restaurants, called Kasbah. This has now moved to a really good Lebanese restaurant on the same street called Bakchich ( http://www.bakchich.co.uk/liverpool.php). Both restaurants were very pleasant the last time I went, but now that they have merged I don't know what the menu is like - worth a look though.

Honourable mention for Buyers Club ( https://www.buyers-club.co.uk/) on Hardman Street, Tiger Rock ( https://www.tigerrockliverpool.uk/) in Lark Lane (out of town and a bit hipster but great food), Free State Kitchen ( http://freestatekitchen.co.uk/) on the way up to the Uni quarter and a whole host of decent restaurants around the Dock itself.

"Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."
Poll: Who will be the winner?

as said above.. loads of places on Bold Street, Seel (?) Street and Hardman Street. Also China Town if you're into that cuisine.

Been over 10 years since I left Liverpool - what a great city to live in...

I went to Bem Brazil in Liverpool pre-covid, great place for meat lovers, worth going to see the Everton FC shop in Liverpool 1, named Everton 2, I have to laugh every time I see it.
