Yeah I remember him stepping down from the NI brief to undergo an operation but hadn't realised the cancer was so advanced.

Nice to see some genuine tributes from his opponents. Seems like he was well thought of on all sides.

Even on Twitter which can be a cesspit I'd say 95% of the comments underneath Brokenshire tributes from serving politicians have been positive, which is rare.
